The TP-Link Omada OC400 is a rackmount hardware controller that runs the Omada software-defined network on its own box, managing up to 1,000 access points, 200 switches, 100 gateways and 30,000 clients across up to 100 sites. It has two 10G SFP+ and four Gigabit ports, 8 GB of RAM and two internal redundant power supplies, so it keeps running if one fails. Cloud access is included without licence fees. In practice it is the central brain for hotels, schools, campuses and multi-site businesses that have outgrown a small OC200 or OC300.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It only manages Omada devices — TP-Link Omada access points, switches and gateways. It does not manage other brands. No SFP+ modules are included; the 10G ports need modules or DAC cables. It is a 1U, 19″ rack unit with the rack kit in the box. Smaller networks are served by the OC300 or OC200. Tell us how many devices and sites you plan and we check the size.
