The TP-Link VIGI NVR4032H is a 32-channel network video recorder that records and displays up to 32 IP cameras at up to 8 MP. It has no PoE ports: cameras connect through a PoE switch on the same network, which suits larger sites with cameras spread across floors and buildings. Recording goes to 4 SATA hard-drive bays of up to 16 TB each, and a monitor connects to the 4K HDMI or the VGA output for live view and playback. Two Gigabit ports, 16 alarm inputs and 4 outputs, an internal power supply and rack brackets make it a central recorder for a larger site. In practice you connect the cameras, add a surveillance hard drive, and manage everything locally or from the VIGI app and VIGI Security Manager.
Compatibility — check before buying:
No hard drive is included — add a 3.5″ SATA surveillance drive (up to 4) of up to 16 TB, or the recorder cannot store video. Cameras: VIGI cameras and cameras that support ONVIF Profile S/T work; analog and HD-analog cameras do not. No PoE ports: you need a PoE switch or injectors for the cameras. Bandwidth: the recorder accepts 320 Mbps in total from all cameras. Do not confuse it with the NVR4064H: same chassis, but 64 channels, a second HDMI output and eSATA. Tell us your cameras and how many days you want to keep, and we size the drive and the system.
