Transcend MSA372M 32GB — mSATA SATA SSD
32GBmSATASATA III 6Gb/sMLC + DDR3
Transcend MSA372M 32GB is an mSATA (SATA III 6Gb/s) SSD with MLC NAND and a DDR3 DRAM cache, built for industrial PCs, thin clients, POS terminals and older laptops that use the small mSATA card slot.
mSATA is the card-style SATA format that preceded M.2: a 50.8 x 29.85 mm board that plugs into a dedicated mini-PCIe-shaped socket but talks SATA. It is common in embedded boards, kiosks, network appliances and 2011–2015 notebooks. Transcend now lists the MSA372M under its embedded solutions, with MLC flash, a 2,500,000-hour MTBF and features aimed at long, stable service — Corner Bond for shock, anti-sulfur and Power Shield against sudden power loss.
At 32GB this is a boot or firmware drive for a lean OS (embedded Windows, Linux, thin-client images), not general-purpose storage. Transcend publishes performance and TBW only for the family's largest capacities, so no speed figure is given here for 32GB.
What's in the Box
- Transcend MSA372M 32GB mSATA SSD (Transcend does not list accessories)
What It Means in Practice
- Fits only an mSATA socket — check that your board or laptop manual says mSATA (not M.2 or mini-PCIe Wi-Fi).
- Standard temperature version (0–70 °C); for −40 to 85 °C environments the wide-temperature MSA372I is the matching part.
- Supports DevSleep for very low standby power in mobile and embedded devices.
- Power Shield helps protect data during sudden power loss — useful in kiosks and machines that get switched off at the wall.
What Will Not Work
- M.2 slots of any kind — mSATA and M.2 are different, incompatible connectors.
- Mini-PCIe slots meant for Wi-Fi or WWAN cards, even though they look identical.
- 2.5-inch SATA bays, unless you use an mSATA to 2.5" adapter.
- Desktop-class storage needs: 32GB is for a lean OS or firmware image only.
Key Features
MLC NAND
Two-bit-per-cell flash for higher endurance than TLC in long-running devices.
DDR3 DRAM cache
Keeps response consistent under mixed small reads and writes.
Power Shield
Helps protect data during unexpected power loss.
Rugged build
Corner Bond, anti-sulfur and 30µ" gold finger for harsh environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as M.2?
No. mSATA is an older card format with a different connector. If your device has an M.2 slot, you need an M.2 drive instead.
What speed does the 32GB version reach?
Transcend does not publish speed or TBW for the 32GB capacity; family figures refer to larger capacities, so we do not quote them for this part.
Do you have a wide-temperature version?
Yes — the MSA372I (−40 to 85 °C) is the industrial-temperature sibling. Ask us for the matching capacity.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The MSA372M is a replacement and embedded part: buy it when a device specifically needs mSATA. At 32GB it suits a thin-client or kiosk image; for a laptop with an mSATA slot a larger capacity makes more sense. Browse our
internal SSD range to compare capacities and interfaces side by side.
✓ Buy it if your embedded PC, thin client or POS terminal takes an mSATA drive and needs a small, reliable boot module.
✕ Skip it if your device has an M.2 slot, or you need it for −40 °C / 85 °C conditions (choose the MSA372I).
→ Also consider the TS32GMSA372I wide-temperature version, or larger MSA372M capacities for laptops.
Not sure it fits? Send us the exact model of your laptop, PC or motherboard and we will check the drive bay or M.2 slot before you order.
