Transcend JetFlash 790 32 GB — Capless, White
32 GBCapless retractable connectorLanyard / keyring loop5-year warranty
The Transcend JetFlash 790 (TS32GJF790W) is a 32 GB USB-A flash drive with a capless, retractable connector — the plug slides out of the housing and retracts again, so there is no end cap to lose. Transcend publishes it in white with a lanyard and keyring loop, at 63.6 × 21.2 × 10.6 mm and 9 grams. The interface is USB 3.1 Gen 1 and it carries Transcend’s five-year limited warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? Do not confuse this with the JetFlash 790C. The two share the same body — identical 63.6 × 21.2 × 10.6 mm, identical 9 g, identical capless slider — but the 790 is USB Type-A and the 790C is USB Type-C. One character in the part number separates a drive that plugs into your desktop from one that plugs into your phone. This part, TS32GJF790W, is Type-A. Transcend publishes no read or write speed for the JetFlash 790 at any capacity, so there is no figure to compare it on; the interface is USB 3.1 Gen 1, a 5 Gbps link. The retractable slider is the only moving part, and it is what wears if the drive is treated roughly — a capped drive has none. Transcend publishes no operating temperature and no package contents for its consumer JetFlash range. One point on colour: Transcend publishes White for the W suffix and the word blue appears nowhere in its datasheet, so a listing describing this part as white and blue is going beyond what Transcend states.

Key Features
Capless retractable connector
The USB plug slides out of the housing and retracts when you are done. Transcend’s own wording is a capless design with a slide-out USB connector — it removes the single most common way a flash drive gets lost or damaged.
Lanyard and keyring loop
Transcend publishes a lanyard and keyring loop on this model, which not every JetFlash has. It is the difference between a drive that lives on your keys and one that lives in a drawer.
USB 3.1 Gen 1 at 9 grams
A 5 Gbps interface in a 9 g body. Transcend publishes no MB/s figure for this model, so we state the interface rather than invent a number.
Five years, plus Transcend Elite
A five-year limited warranty, and free Transcend Elite software for Windows, macOS and Android offering backup, restore, data encryption and cloud backup.

Singular Expert Insight
The JetFlash 790 is bought for its shape rather than its numbers: a slider instead of a cap, and a loop that lets it live on a keyring. Both are the details that decide whether a flash drive is still working in two years. The gap across Transcend’s whole consumer JetFlash line is the same one here — no transfer speed is published anywhere, so what you are buying is the mechanism and the five-year warranty rather than a measured figure. The one genuine ordering hazard is the 790C, which is the same body with a Type-C plug and one letter apart in the code. Tell us which machines this has to work with and we will confirm the connector before you order.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a 32 GB capless drive with a keyring loop for everyday USB-A use, and a five-year Transcend warranty matters more to you than a printed speed figure.
Skip it if
You need a USB-C connector for a phone or a modern laptop, you are comparing drives on published MB/s, or you would rather have no moving parts at all.
Also consider
The Transcend JetFlash 790C if you actually need USB Type-C, or the JetFlash 700 for a plain one-piece body with nothing to slide.
