Sixteen multi-gigabit PoE++ connections with 10G uplinks
16 × 2.5G PoE++2 × 10G SFP+450 W shared PoEWeb Smart and static routing
The TRENDnet TPE-3182WSB combines sixteen 2.5G PoE++ copper ports with two 10G SFP+ uplinks. Its web management, VLANs, QoS, LACP and IPv4/IPv6 static routing support organised SMB networks. A 450 W shared PoE budget powers compatible devices, while optional Hive cloud management provides a separate remote-management option.
Best For: SMB racks with multiple 2.5G powered endpoints, managed traffic and compatible 10G uplinks.
Before you order: The manufacturer rates each PoE++ port up to 95 W PSE, but all sixteen share 450 W. Do not plan sixteen simultaneous 95 W loads. Perpetual PoE keeps endpoint power during switch reboot/update while mains input remains available; it is not UPS backup. Hive is optional and additional fees may apply. Three smart fans require appropriate rack placement.
What's in the Box
- TPE-3182WSB with internal AC supply.
- Power cord 1.8 m and rackmount kit.
- Optical modules, fibre/DAC links and Ethernet cables selected separately.
- Optional Hive service is separate; no prepaid subscription is established.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect sixteen copper devices at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps and power compatible PoE endpoints within the shared budget.
- Use compatible 1G/10G modules or links in the two SFP+ cages.
- Configure VLANs, LACP, QoS, spanning tree and access controls for the actual network.
- Use static routing where suitable and configure PoE recovery/monitoring deliberately.
What Will Not Work
- 450 W cannot supply all sixteen ports at 95 W simultaneously.
- Two 10G uplinks have finite capacity relative to sixteen 2.5G access ports.
- Static routing does not establish WAN firewall/NAT functions.
- No fanless operation, included optics or built-in battery backup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every port provide 95 W together?
No. The sixteen ports share a total 450 W budget.
Is Hive free and included?
Hive is optional and additional fees may apply; no prepaid service is established.
Does Perpetual PoE cover a power outage?
No. It maintains PD power during switch reboot/update while mains input remains available.
Is the console an extra network port?
No. There are sixteen copper data ports and two SFP+ links; the console is for administration.
Singular Expert Insight
Check both PoE and uplink demand. A large number of high-power-capable ports does not mean all can operate at maximum power simultaneously, and two 10G uplinks can become the traffic limit. Allocate device loads, VLANs and paths deliberately, then account for fan noise and optional cloud costs.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need managed 2.5G PoE++ access for many devices with two compatible 10G uplinks.
✕ Skip it if You need all ports at 95 W together, silent desktop use or built-in UPS.
→ Also consider Combined PoE draw, uplink traffic, optics/cabling, rack airflow, noise and Hive fees.
