The TRENDnet TEG-S381 adds eight 2.5G RJ45 connections to a small office or home network. Its unmanaged design needs no web configuration, while a compact metal enclosure and fanless cooling suit desktop or wall placement. It includes the external power adapter and supports suitable existing Cat5e or better cabling.

Best For: Simple wired networks connecting compatible 2.5G PCs, NAS systems and other network devices.
Before you order: Both endpoints and the cabling must support the intended link speed. A router or uplink connected to this switch uses one of the eight ports. Local transfer performance also depends on storage and the rest of the network. This switch does not supply PoE or increase an internet connection beyond its service speed.

Do I need software to set it up?
It is an unmanaged switch. Connect power and compatible Ethernet devices; no local web configuration is required.
Will my 1G devices work?
The manufacturer lists support for 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps links. Each link uses the supported endpoint speed.
Does it supply PoE?
No. It provides Ethernet data connections and uses its own included adapter.
Are all eight ports available for computers?
If one port connects to a router or another switch, that port is occupied by the uplink.
Will it make my internet faster?
