16-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Rackmount Switch
16× Gigabit RJ45Unmanaged19" RackmountGREENnet32 Gbps
The TRENDnet TEG-S17 adds sixteen Gigabit ports to a network in one silent, unmanaged rackmount switch with energy-saving GREENnet technology. Every RJ45 port runs at 10/100/1000Mbps and auto-negotiates to match each device, so PCs, servers, NAS units and access points all connect at full Gigabit speed with no configuration. GREENnet automatically trims power based on link status and cable length, while a metal chassis mounts cleanly in a 19-inch rack and runs its 32 Gbps non-blocking fabric silently.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Fully compatible with any 10/100/1000 Ethernet device. Each port auto-detects link speed and cable type (Auto-MDI/MDI-X), so existing Gigabit and Fast Ethernet equipment connects and works with no setup.
Best For
✓Expanding an office or server-room network
✓Aggregating PCs, servers and access points at Gigabit
✓Energy-conscious rack installations
✓Reliable Gigabit connectivity with no configuration
Key Features
16 Gigabit Ports
Sixteen 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports connect a large number of devices at full Gigabit speed, with automatic negotiation on every port.
GREENnet Energy Saving
GREENnet technology automatically adjusts power consumption based on link status and cable length, lowering running costs with no configuration.
19-inch Rackmount
A metal chassis mounts cleanly in a standard 19-inch rack or cabinet, keeping a dense run of cabling tidy in a server room or wiring closet.
32 Gbps Non-Blocking
A 32 Gbps switching fabric handles all sixteen ports at full Gigabit speed at once, so simultaneous transfers never bottleneck.

Singular Expert Insight
The TEG-S17 is a dependable, energy-conscious workhorse: sixteen silent Gigabit ports in a rackmount metal body, with GREENnet trimming power automatically. It is ideal as an access-layer expander where you need reliable Gigabit connectivity for many devices in a rack, and want to keep running costs down. If you later need VLANs, PoE or an SFP uplink, that is where to step up. Compare the full range of network switches, and find racks, patch panels and cabling in the wider networking range.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want sixteen reliable Gigabit ports in a silent, fanless 19-inch rackmount metal case with automatic GREENnet power saving and true plug-and-play operation.
Skip it if
You need Power over Ethernet, an SFP fibre uplink, or managed features such as VLANs, QoS and link aggregation — this is an unmanaged, copper-only, non-PoE switch.
Also consider
Consider a managed or PoE 16-port model if you plan to segment your network or power devices, and add rack screws and patch cables to complete the installation.
