TRENDnet TI-G62 — 6-Port Hardened Industrial Gigabit DIN-Rail Switch
Unmanaged · plug and play5x Gigabit RJ45 + 2x SFP (1 shared)12-56V DC dual inputs-40 to 75°C · IP30 metal
The TRENDnet TI-G62 is a hardened, unmanaged Gigabit switch for DIN-rail or wall mounting, with five 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports and two SFP slots — one dedicated and one shared with RJ45 port 5 — for control cabinets, factory floors, traffic and outdoor enclosures where an office switch would not survive.
It runs from any 12-56V DC supply on two redundant inputs, works from -40 to 75°C in an IP30 metal case and needs no configuration: wire the power, plug in the cables and it switches. An alarm relay closes when a power input fails, so a PLC or alarm panel can report it. This page describes the TI-G62 hardware version 1 as listed by our distributor; TRENDnet's newer version 2 adds a seventh, fully independent port.
Before you order: No power supply is included. You need a 12-56V DC source — typically a DIN-rail PSU such as the TRENDnet TI-M6024 (24V, 60W) — wired to the removable terminal block.
What's in the Box
- TI-G62 industrial switch
- Removable 6-pin power terminal block
- DIN-rail and wall mount kit
- Quick Installation Guide
What It Means in Practice
- Five copper Gigabit ports for PLCs, HMIs, IP cameras or panel PCs, plus fibre uplinks to reach a distant control room or another cabinet.
- Port 5 is a combo: use either its RJ45 jack or the shared SFP slot, not both. With both SFP slots in use you have 4 copper + 2 fibre ports.
- Two DC inputs (e.g. two PSUs, or PSU + battery) keep the switch running if one source fails; the relay output signals the failure.
- Unmanaged means no VLANs, no QoS and no ring redundancy — if you need those, look at a managed industrial model.
What Will Not Work
- No PoE — it will not power cameras or access points; choose a PoE+ model such as the TI-PG62B for that.
- It cannot be powered from mains (230V AC) directly; a DC supply is required.
- No management: no VLAN, ERPS/RSTP ring, IGMP snooping, SNMP or web interface.
- Port 5 RJ45 and the shared SFP cannot be used at the same time.
- SFP modules are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which TRENDnet power supply fits?
Any regulated 12-56V DC supply works. TRENDnet lists the TI-M6024 (24V, 60W) DIN-rail PSU; since the switch draws under 4W, a small supply is enough.
Which SFP modules can I use?
100 or 1000 Mbps SFP modules; set the DIP switch for the SFP speed. TRENDnet lists TI-MGBSX (multimode 550 m) and TI-MGBS10/20/40 (single-mode) modules.
Can I use all seven connectors at once?
No. RJ45 port 5 and one SFP slot share the same port, so the switch has six usable ports in total.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The TI-G62 is the simplest way to put Gigabit copper and fibre into a DIN-rail cabinet without touching a configuration screen. It suits machine networks, CCTV backbones with non-PoE cameras and remote cabinets fed by fibre. If your cameras need power from the switch, move to a PoE+ model; for loop protection or VLANs, move to a managed one. Browse our
industrial and office switches to compare.
✓ Buy it if you need a rugged unmanaged switch with fibre uplinks on DC power.
✕ Skip it if you need PoE, VLANs or ring redundancy, or you have only AC mains in the cabinet.
→ Also consider TRENDnet TI-PG62B (4x PoE+ with 2x SFP) or a managed industrial switch such as the TI-G642i.
