The TRENDnet TI-PG162 is an unmanaged industrial Gigabit switch with 14 PoE+ RJ45 ports and 2 Gigabit SFP slots, built to power and connect IP cameras, wireless access points and industrial devices inside DIN-rail cabinets, wall enclosures and harsh sites from -40 to 75°C.
Each PoE+ port delivers up to 30W (IEEE 802.3af/at) from a shared 240W budget, so a full cabinet of cameras can run off one switch. It takes 48-56V DC on redundant inputs with an alarm relay for power failure, and needs no configuration at all.
Before you order: No power supply is included. The PoE budget is only as large as the DC supply you connect — for the full 240W, TRENDnet recommends the TI-S48048 (48V, 480W) DIN-rail PSU.

What It Means in Practice
- Up to 14 PoE+ devices from one switch: at 15W each (typical camera) 14 cameras fit comfortably inside 240W; at 30W each, around 8 devices fit.
- The 2 SFP slots take fibre uplinks back to the control room — ideal for long camera runs on a site or campus.
- Multiple DC inputs let you connect two supplies; if one fails the switch keeps running and the relay contact reports it.
- Plug-and-play: no IP address, no software, nothing to configure.
What Will Not Work
- Cannot run directly from 230V AC — a 48-56V DC supply is required (a 12V or 24V supply will not power it).
- No PoE++ (802.3bt): devices that need more than 30W per port will not get enough power.
- No management — no VLAN, QoS, ring redundancy, PoE scheduling or SNMP monitoring.
- SFP modules are not included and the SFP slots do not provide PoE.

The TI-PG162 is a lot of PoE+ in a DIN-rail footprint — useful for large camera installations, perimeter cabinets and production lines where you would otherwise need two smaller switches. Size the DC supply for your real PoE load, add fibre for distance, and you are done. Compare other PoE models in our network switches.
