TRENDnet TK-803R 8-Port USB Rack-Mount KVM Switch

8 computers · 1 consoleVGA · 2048 x 153619-inch 1U rack mountAuto-scan 10–99 s

The TRENDnet TK-803R is an 8-port USB rack-mount KVM switch that lets one VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse control up to eight computers or servers from a single 19-inch 1U unit, at resolutions up to 2048 x 1536. The TK-803R (v2) accepts a USB or PS/2 keyboard and mouse at the console, connects to each computer via VGA and USB, and supports hotkeys, front buttons and auto-scan.

Compatibility note: This is a VGA-only switch with no audio and no USB hub. KVM cables are not included: each computer needs a VGA + USB KVM cable (TRENDnet TK-CU06 / CU10 / CU15). Computers with only HDMI or DisplayPort outputs need active converters to VGA.

Key Features

Eight servers in 1U
One 19-inch rack unit controls up to eight PCs or servers, with front-panel buttons 1–8 and LEDs for the active port.

Monitoring with auto-scan
Cycles through connected computers at an adjustable 10–99 second interval, handy for watching status screens across a server room.

USB or PS/2 console
Use a USB or legacy PS/2 keyboard and mouse at the console; computers connect over USB, can be hot-plugged, and keyboard lock states are restored on switching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the TRENDnet TK-803R control servers that only have HDMI or DisplayPort?
Only with active HDMI-to-VGA or DP-to-VGA converters on each server, because the switch is VGA-only. Most rack servers still provide a VGA port, which connects directly.
Can I use a PS/2 keyboard with the TK-803R?
Yes, at the console. The computer side is USB only, so the switch translates PS/2 input for USB-connected servers.
Does the TK-803R support daisy-chaining or an on-screen menu?
TRENDnet does not publish cascade or OSD support for this model; switching is by buttons, hotkeys and auto-scan.
Singular Expert Insight
The TK-803R is a cost-effective way to put a single console in front of up to eight VGA-equipped servers in a small rack or IT closet. Pair it with a rack console drawer or a monitor and keyboard shelf; for HDMI or DisplayPort desktops, pick a digital model from our KVM switch range.
✓ Buy it if you manage up to eight VGA servers or PCs from one rack-mounted console.
✕ Skip it if your machines are HDMI/DP only, or you need audio or a USB hub.
→ Also consider a rack KVM console drawer such as the DIGITUS DS-72221-3GE, or the 4-port DIGITUS DS-12880 for HDMI desktops.
