Trodat 6/53/2 Replacement Ink Pad — Two-Colour Blue and Red for Professional Daters and Text Stamps
Two-colour blue and red padTrodat 6/53 pad sizeFor Professional 5440 and 5440/LWater-based, document-proof ink
This is the Trodat 6/53/2 replacement ink pad, supplied under article 5153321, and the first thing to understand about it is that it is a single two-colour pad rather than a blue pad and a red pad. Each pad is divided so that a dater prints its text in blue and its date in red — the trailing 2 in Trodat’s code means zweifarbig, two-coloured. It fits the 6/53 pad size used by Trodat Professional text stamps and daters, principally the 5440 and 5440/L, and by several models in the metal 4000 line. Trodat’s ink is water-based and document-proof to DIN ISO 14145-2. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check your stamp before ordering — the 6/53 is a specific pad size and will not fit anything outside its list. It fits the Trodat Professional models 5203, 5253, 5440 and 5440/L, and the metal 4000 line models 4203, 4440, 4440/L, 4558, 4558/PL and 4610. It does not fit any Trodat Printy stamp — the 4911, 4912, 4913 and 4850 use the 6/49xx and 6/48xx pad series instead. The two-colour version makes practical sense mainly on the daters, where a separate date band can print in red against blue text; on a plain text stamp both colours will appear across the impression. Note also that although this article appears alongside WEDO office lines, the manufacturer is Trodat, not WEDO.
Best For

✓ Reception and post-room date stamping
✓ Keeping a spare pad in the drawer
✓ Reviving a stamp that prints faintly
Key Features
One pad, two colours
The pad itself is split into a blue zone and a red zone, which is what lets a dater print the fixed text in blue and the rotating date in red from a single impression. This is not a pack of one blue pad plus one red pad, and it is the most common misunderstanding with this article number.
Correct 6/53 pad size
Trodat pads are sized to the stamp, and 6/53 is the size used by the Professional 5203, 5253, 5440 and 5440/L and by the metal-bodied 4203, 4440, 4440/L, 4558, 4558/PL and 4610. Fitting is a drawer-swap: the old pad slides out of the stamp body and the new one drops in, with no tools and no re-inking by hand.
Water-based, document-proof ink
Trodat’s standard ink is water-based and document-proof to DIN ISO 14145-2, hygroscopic so it self-regulates against humidity, and formulated without acid, formaldehyde or heavy metals. The pad carrier includes recycled content. Trodat publishes no impression count, and we do not quote one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this one blue pad and one red pad?
No. It is a two-colour pad: each pad is divided into a blue area and a red area so that a single impression prints in both colours. The 2 at the end of Trodat’s 6/53/2 code stands for two-coloured. If you want a plain single-colour pad for these stamps, the standard 6/53 is sold in blue, red, black and green separately.
Which stamps does the 6/53 pad fit?
The Trodat Professional 5203, 5253, 5440 and 5440/L, and the metal 4000 line models 4203, 4440, 4440/L, 4558, 4558/PL and 4610. It does not fit any Printy stamp — the 4911, 4912, 4913 and 4850 take the 6/49xx or 6/48xx pads. Check the pad size printed on the old pad you are replacing if you are unsure which line your stamp belongs to.
Why would I want two colours?
On a dater it separates the fixed information from the variable: the text plate prints in blue while the rotating date band prints in red, so the date jumps out on a stamped invoice or delivery note. On a plain text stamp both colours simply appear across the impression, which is why the two-colour pad is specified mainly for the 5440 and 5440/L daters.
How do I change the pad?
The old pad slides out of the stamp body and the new one drops into the same slot — no tools, no dismantling and no hand re-inking. Change it when impressions start printing faintly rather than pressing harder, because pressing harder is what distorts the rubber die and shortens the life of the stamp itself.
Singular Expert Insight
Two things go wrong when people order replacement pads. The first is buying the wrong pad size, which is why the model list matters more than anything else on this page — 6/53 is Professional and metal-line, never Printy. The second is expecting two separate colours and receiving one two-tone pad. Get both right and this is a two-minute job that makes an old stamp print like new. Keep a spare in the drawer: a faint stamp is usually met by pressing harder, and that is what wears out the die. Browse our

Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You have a Trodat Professional 5440 or 5440/L dater, or another 6/53-size stamp, and you want the two-colour pad that prints text in blue and the date in red.
Skip it if
Your stamp is a Trodat Printy — it takes a different pad series entirely — or you want a plain single-colour pad, which is the standard 6/53 in blue, red, black or green.
Also consider
The single-colour Trodat 6/53 pad in blue, red, black or green if two-tone printing is not what you need, and a replacement text plate if the impression is worn rather than faint.
