TROIKA's BLACK ROLL TOP is a proper roll-top: you fold the top down and clamp it with a magnetic metal safety buckle, rather than zipping a lid. It is made from tarpaulin - the same coated material used for truck curtains - which is why it is rated IPX4 splash-proof and still weighs only 700 grams. The details are the interesting part: a hidden compartment sized for a tracking tag, a front zip slider that conceals itself, a secret zip pocket on the back panel, and an offset base so the bag stands up rather than slumping.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the one thing TROIKA does not publish: there is no laptop size in inches and no padded laptop compartment dimension. TROIKA's own wording is only that the material "reliably protects laptops, iPads, etc." The bag is 530 mm tall by 330 mm wide by 110 mm deep with a maximum load of 15 kg, so a 15" or 16" machine will physically go in - but if you need a guaranteed padded fit for a specific laptop, choose a bag whose maker publishes the compartment size. TROIKA's US site quotes both "15 inches" and "up to 16 inches" on the same page, which is why we are not repeating either.

Beyond that, be careful which TROIKA site you read: the German catalogue gives 530 x 330 x 110 mm, 700 g and 17.5 litres, while the US site gives 420 x 400 x 110 mm, 649 g and about 15 litres for the same article. We publish the German figures. The one genuine gap is laptop compatibility, which TROIKA simply does not specify - if a guaranteed padded fit is what you need, this is not the bag to gamble on.
