Tucano Pencil 3 — active stylus for iPad with palm rejection
Palm rejectionUp to 50 h batteryUSB-C chargingNo pairing needed
The Tucano Pencil 3 MA-STY3-PK is an active stylus for iPad in pink with palm rejection and up to 50 hours of battery life, made for note-taking, school work and sketching without the price of an Apple Pencil.
It needs no Bluetooth pairing: a double tap switches it on and off, and it switches itself off after 5 minutes of inactivity. The 230 mAh battery charges by USB-C (around 80% in 30–40 minutes, per Tucano) and the pen can be used while charging. A built-in magnet holds it on the side of the iPad, and the shell is aluminium.
Before you order: Tucano says Pencil 3 is designed for iPad but does not publish a list of supported iPad models. Palm rejection on third-party styluses depends on the iPad model and iPadOS version — send us your iPad model and we will check before you order.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Tucano Pencil 3 stylus (pink)
- 1 × USB-C charging cable
- 2 × spare tips
What It Means in Practice
- Rest your hand on the screen while writing — palm rejection prevents stray marks.
- No pairing step: it works as soon as you switch it on.
- Up to 50 hours of battery per charge at medium use, according to Tucano.
- The magnet keeps it on the side of the iPad, but it does not charge from the magnet — charge it by cable.
What Will Not Work
- It is not an Apple Pencil: Tucano does not publish pressure sensitivity, so it is not intended for pressure-dependent drawing.
- It does not charge magnetically on the iPad — charging is USB-C only.
- It does not work as a stylus for Android tablets or iPhone — Tucano designs it for iPad.
