The Ubiquiti UNAS 2 White (SKU UNAS-2-W) is a diskless, two-bay desktop network-attached storage appliance for shared files and backups through UniFi Drive. It includes a 60W PoE++ adapter; storage drives are sold separately.
Best For: For users who want a compact, wired UniFi Drive NAS for shared files and backups, and are prepared to select qualified drives separately. It is diskless, so it is not ready for storage until drives are installed.
Before you order: No drives or storage capacity are included. Select drive models against Ubiquiti's current qualification information; do not assume every 2.5-inch SSD is compatible. RAID 1 is mirroring, not an independent backup, and this model does not promise RAID 0/5/6/10 or JBOD. A suitable PoE++ switch can power it directly; otherwise use the included injector with a data switch. Network and client conditions affect transfer speeds. Internet access or third-party accounts may be used for remote/cloud backups; no cloud subscription or quota is included.

What It Means in Practice
- Install drives before use; the package does not include HDDs or a storage capacity. Drive selection should be checked against the current qualified-drive information.
- Use the 2.5GbE RJ45 port for wired networking and PoE++ input. The included injector can connect to a standard data switch, or a suitable PoE++ switch can power the NAS directly.
- The 5Gbps USB-C port supports USB drives; it is not a 5GbE network connection, host DAS mode or power input.
- RAID 1 mirrors the installed drives in a single RAID group. Usable capacity depends on the drives, formatting and RAID setup, and mirroring is not an independent backup.
What Will Not Work
- Diskless: HDDs and USB drives are not included; no storage capacity is supplied.
- Only RAID 1 in one RAID group is specified. RAID 0, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10 and JBOD are not promised.
- The 5Gbps USB-C port is for USB-drive expansion, not 5GbE networking, host DAS mode or power input.
- Maximum drive power budget is 52W total, not 52W per bay or drive; maximum total appliance consumption is 60W.
- Use UniFi Drive 3.1.7 or later. Cloud backup destinations and accounts are separate; no included cloud subscription or quota is stated.
