Compact LTE routing for IoT and backup connectivity
LTE Cat 4 / nano SIM2× Fast EthernetWi-Fi 4 / WAN fallbackStandalone / DIN or wall
The Ubiquiti UMR-Ultra is a compact standalone mobile router with LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 4 and two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. It can prioritize cellular, wired or Wi-Fi WAN connections and fall back when configured, with VPN controls for a managed small installation. Local management needs no UniFi Console.
Best For: IoT equipment, small remote installations and modest-bandwidth backup connections with compatible LTE service.
Before you order: Power adapter and cable are not included. Provide suitable USB-C 5 V/2 A power or a correctly wired 9–30 V DC four-pin ATX supply. A compatible nano SIM, data plan and adequate cellular coverage are separate requirements. The Ethernet ports are Fast Ethernet, not Gigabit.
What's in the Box
- UMR-Ultra router with two external LTE antennas and one external Wi-Fi antenna.
- DIN-rail and wall mounting parts with hardware, shown in the official in-box image.
- Power adapter/cable, SIM/data service, Ethernet cables and any connected equipment are separate.
What It Means in Practice
- Choose and configure a compatible mobile operator and nano SIM for your deployment.
- Connect Ethernet equipment or manage locally over Wi-Fi; no UniFi Console is required.
- Set WAN priority and fallback across available cellular, wired and Wi-Fi connections.
- Configure compatible OpenVPN or WireGuard clients, or IPsec/WireGuard site-to-site peers.
- Remote cloud management is optional through a separate Mobility Cloud subscription.
What Will Not Work
- No integrated 5G, Gigabit Ethernet or PoE power is specified for Ultra.
- LTE 150/50 Mbps and Wi-Fi PHY 150 Mbps are theoretical ceilings; coverage, network, traffic and the 100 Mbps wired links constrain usable speed.
- This is a standalone Mobility product; do not assume it adopts as a normal UniFi Network gateway.
- No outdoor ingress rating or GPS is established for this model.
- Power input must meet the documented voltage and pinout; USB-C is documented for power, not storage or modem expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a UniFi Console?
No. It is a standalone router with local Ethernet/Wi-Fi management; optional remote management uses Mobility Cloud.
Is a power adapter included?
No. The official store explicitly excludes adapter and cable. Provide a suitable 10 W USB-C or correctly specified ATX supply.
Are the Ethernet ports Gigabit?
No. Both ports are Fast Ethernet, 10/100 Mbps.
Is LTE service included?
No service plan is promised. You need a compatible nano SIM, operator plan and coverage.
Does Ultra have PoE or 5G?
Neither is specified for this Ultra model; do not substitute specifications from other UMR models.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose this compact router for its LTE and flexible WAN modes, not for high wired throughput. Verify operator bands, power availability and actual failover behaviour at the intended location. Its 100 Mbps Ethernet links and single-stream Wi-Fi set practical limits even where cellular reception is strong.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need a small standalone LTE router for IoT or a modest-bandwidth backup link.
✕ Skip it if You need 5G, Gigabit ports, PoE power or a managed UniFi Network gateway.
→ Also consider SIM compatibility, coverage, data charges, suitable separate power and any optional cloud subscription.
