UniFi WAN Switch
3x 10G SFP+1U RackmountShadow Mode HA
The Ubiquiti UniFi WAN Switch (USW-WAN) is the fiber counterpart to the USW-WAN-RJ45, purpose-built to interconnect resilient UniFi Cloud Gateway deployments. It provides three 10G SFP+ ports — typically one to a primary gateway, one to a redundant gateway running Shadow mode HA, and one for the incoming ISP fiber — plus a dedicated 1GbE RJ45 port for out-of-band management. A compact 1U enclosure, 20Gbps switching capacity and low 13W power draw suit always-on WAN edge deployments. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility note: like the RJ45 variant, this switch does not provide gateway redundancy on its own — it is the fiber interconnect for two compatible UniFi Cloud Gateways running Shadow mode HA. SFP+ transceivers are sold separately.
Best For
✓ Fiber-based redundant UniFi gateway deployments
✓ Sites with SFP+ fiber WAN infrastructure
✓ Zero-downtime WAN failover requirements
✓ Mission-critical office or datacenter edges
✓ Compact 1U fiber WAN aggregation
✓ Out-of-band management via dedicated GbE port
Key Features
3x 10G SFP+ Ports
Fiber-based 10G ports connect primary/redundant gateways and the ISP fiber uplink.
Dedicated Management Port
A separate 1GbE RJ45 port keeps management traffic isolated from the WAN data path.
Compact, Low-Power 1U Design
20Gbps switching capacity in a small 1U chassis drawing just 13W, easing rack space and power planning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are SFP+ transceivers included?
No, SFP+ modules are sold separately and should be matched to your fiber type and distance.
What is the difference vs USW-WAN-RJ45?
This model uses SFP+ fiber ports instead of RJ45 copper for the 10G links; choose based on your existing cabling infrastructure.
Does this switch need two gateways to be useful?
A single gateway can use it as a standard switch, but full WAN failover requires two compatible gateways in Shadow mode.
Singular Expert Insight
Confirm your ISP handoff and gateway SFP+ ports before ordering — if your infrastructure is copper-based, the USW-WAN-RJ45 variant avoids extra media converters.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if: you have fiber SFP+ infrastructure and need a redundant UniFi gateway interconnect.
Skip it if: your infrastructure is copper-based — choose USW-WAN-RJ45 instead.
Also consider: USW-WAN-RJ45 for copper WAN environments.
