Ultimate Ears BOOM 4 — rugged 360° Bluetooth speaker in Enchanting Lilac
360° soundIP67 · floatsUp to 15 hEnchanting Lilac
The Ultimate Ears BOOM 4 (part 984-002011, Enchanting Lilac) is a portable Bluetooth speaker with 360° sound, IP67 waterproofing and up to 15 hours of battery, made for the beach, the pool, the garden and anywhere a phone speaker is not enough.
Two 40 mm active drivers and two passive radiators push sound in every direction, so everyone around it hears the same mix. It is waterproof, dustproof, drop-proof and it floats, and it charges over USB-C. Through the UE BOOM app you can link it with 150+ other compatible UE speakers using PartyUp.
Before you order: No charger is included — BOOM 4 charges over USB-C, so use an existing USB-C phone or laptop charger.
What's in the Box
- Ultimate Ears BOOM 4 speaker (Enchanting Lilac) with attached bungee
- Quick Start Guide (printed inside the box)
What It Means in Practice
- Pair once with your phone and play from up to 45 m away in open space — walls and obstacles shorten that.
- IP67 means you can drop it in the pool: it survives immersion and floats, and rinses clean after sand or dirt.
- The Magic Button plays, pauses and skips, and on supported apps starts your playlists (Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music on iOS) with one touch.
- Battery runs up to 15 hours; loud volume or bass boost shortens it.
- PartyUp links BOOM, MEGABOOM, EVERBOOM, EPICBOOM and HYPERBOOM speakers for bigger spaces.
What Will Not Work
- No Wi-Fi, no AirPlay or Chromecast — it plays over Bluetooth only.
- No AUX/3.5 mm input for wired sources.
- No microphone for calls is listed, so do not buy it as a speakerphone.
- No charging adapter or USB-C cable is listed in the box.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
BOOM 4 is the size most people actually carry: big enough to fill a garden, small enough for a bag, and tough enough to ignore the pool. Because the box has no charger, a USB-C power adapter you already use for your laptop or phone will do — see our USB-C power supplies if you need one.
✓ Buy it if you want a waterproof, drop-proof 360° Bluetooth speaker with long battery in Enchanting Lilac.
✕ Skip it if you need Wi-Fi multiroom, an AUX input or a speakerphone.
→ Also consider MEGABOOM or EVERBOOM for louder sound, or WONDERBOOM for something smaller.
