Ultron save-E 8" LED Downlight 22W — 1500 lm Neutral White

8" recessed22 W · 1500 lm4000K90° beam

The Ultron save-E 8" LED downlight (138095) is a 22 W recessed ceiling light producing 1500 lumens of 4000K neutral white light, made for suspended and plasterboard ceilings in open-plan offices, retail floors, halls and higher ceilings.

Ultron rates it for 25,000 hours and 15,000 switching cycles. Its 90° beam gives a defined, even pool of light below each fitting, so spacing between downlights matters more than with a wide-angle panel. Overall size is 230 mm in diameter and 69 mm in height.

Before you order: Ultron does not publish the ceiling cut-out size for this 8" downlight — only the overall diameter of 230 mm and height of 69 mm. If you are replacing existing downlights, measure the hole and send it to us; we will confirm the fit before you order.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Ultron save-E 8" LED recessed downlight 22 W (138095)
  • Ultron does not list a separate driver, cable or tools in the scope of delivery — installation is into an existing lighting circuit

What It Means in Practice

  • 1500 lm from 22 W makes it a sensible fit for open-plan offices, retail floors, halls and higher ceilings.
  • 4000K neutral white is the usual choice for workspaces and shops: it keeps text and product colours crisp without the bluish cast of 6500K daylight.
  • Check the ceiling void: you need at least 69 mm of clear depth above the ceiling, plus room for the mains connection.
  • 25,000 hours is close to 10 years at 10 hours a day, five days a week — useful where ceilings are high or access is awkward.
  • It runs on an ordinary on/off switch; it is not designed for dimmer circuits.

What Will Not Work

  • It is not dimmable — on a dimmer circuit it may flicker or fail early.
  • It is not a plug-in lamp: it is a fixed fitting that must be wired into the ceiling lighting circuit by a qualified electrician.
  • Ultron does not publish an IP rating, so do not install it in showers, outdoor soffits or other wet or exposed locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size do I need — 4", 6" or 8"?
For new installations, pick by room and ceiling height: the 4" suits corridors and small rooms, the 6" general office and retail lighting, the 8" larger spaces and higher ceilings. For replacements, the existing hole decides — send us its diameter.
Is 4000K too cold for a home?
4000K is neutral white — clean and bright, common in kitchens, utility rooms and home offices. For living rooms and bedrooms many people prefer a warmer 3000K.
How many downlights does a room need?
It depends on room size, ceiling height and the task. Send us the room dimensions and ceiling height and we will suggest a layout with the right save-E size.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The save-E 8" is a straightforward non-dimmable LED downlight with published output, beam and lifetime — a solid choice for refurbishing open-plan offices, retail floors, halls and higher ceilings. The one figure to confirm before ordering is the ceiling cut-out, so measure first. Browse all our LED lamps for bulbs and tubes for the rest of the building.
✓ Buy it if you need a 8" recessed downlight with 1500 lm of neutral white light on a standard switched circuit.
✕ Skip it if you need dimming, a warm 3000K tone or a fitting rated for wet locations.
→ Also consider Ultron save-E 4" 12 W (138092) or 6" 16 W (138094) downlights for other ceiling sizes.
Not sure it fits? Send us the diameter of the ceiling hole (or a photo of the old downlight) and we will check compatibility before you order.
