Verbatim Metal Executive 32 GB Silver — Metal, 3.6 g, USB 2.0
32 GBUSB 2.0, Type-AMetal body, 3.6 gKey ring included
The Verbatim Metal Executive is a 32 GB flash drive in a solid metal body, 29 x 15 x 5.5 mm and 3.6 g — about the size and weight of a house key. A metal key ring is supplied in the pack. Verbatim describes the housing as tough, waterproof and dustproof. This particular article number is the USB 2.0 silver version; read the note below before ordering.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? This is the USB 2.0 Metal Executive, not the USB 3.2 one. Verbatim sells two visually identical families in the same 29 x 15 x 5.5 mm metal body, and the colour is the reliable tell: silver = USB 2.0 (
98748 16 GB, 98749 32 GB, 98750 64 GB) and gold = USB 3.2 Gen 1 (99104 16 GB, 99105 32 GB, 99106 64 GB). The gold 32 GB, 99105, is the direct USB 3.2 equivalent of this drive and is published at 80 MB/s read and 25 MB/s write. Verbatim publishes no speed figures at all for the silver USB 2.0 line, and a USB 2.0 bus caps out far below a USB 3.2 one in any case. Buy this one if the price or the silver finish is what you want and speed is not the point; buy 99105 if you care how long a transfer takes. This is also a USB Type-A drive — no USB-C, no adapter in the pack, so it will not enter a phone.Best For
✓ A drive that lives permanently on a keyring — metal body, key ring in the pack
✓ Pockets and bags where a plastic stick would eventually crack
✓ Documents and photographs where transfer time is not the issue
✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports, including old ones
✓ Handing out as something that does not look like a giveaway
✓ Anyone who prefers the silver finish to the gold
Key Features
Metal, and genuinely small
29 x 15 x 5.5 mm and 3.6 g. One of the smallest full-size USB-A drives made, and the metal body is why it survives life on a keyring rather than in a drawer.
Key ring supplied
A metal key ring is in the pack, not sold separately. Small thing, but it is the difference between a drive designed for keys and one with a hole in it.
Tough, waterproof, dustproof
Verbatim’s words for the metal housing. No IP rating is published to go with them, so read them as everyday resilience rather than a certified figure.
USB 2.0 — works in anything
A USB 2.0 drive plugs into every machine ever built with a USB port, including equipment too old to like USB 3 devices. That is a genuine advantage in some settings, and a genuine limitation in most others.

Singular Expert Insight
Judged on its own terms this is a well-made little object: metal, 3.6 g, a key ring in the box, and small enough to live on your keys without noticing. Judged as storage in 2026, USB 2.0 is a real limitation and the honest advice is that most buyers should take the gold
99105 instead — same body, same capacity, same key ring, a modern bus and published speeds. Choose this silver one when the price difference matters, when the machine you are plugging into is genuinely old, or when you simply prefer the finish. Both sit in our USB flash drives range. And if you are moving large working files rather than carrying documents, an external SSD is the right class of product.Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a very small metal 32 GB drive that lives on your keys, with the key ring supplied, and USB 2.0 speed is genuinely fine for what you carry.
Skip it if
Transfer time matters to you — take the gold 99105 instead. Or you need a USB-C connector or a certified water rating.

Verbatim Metal Executive 99105 — the gold 32 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 twin of this drive, at 80 / 25 MB/s. The 16 GB or 64 GB silver versions (98748, 98750) for a different capacity.
