Verbatim AWC-01 — Autofocus Webcam with Microphone
2560 x 1440 @ 30 fpsAutofocusOmnidirectional microphonePrivacy cover included
The Verbatim AWC-01 49578 is a Plug & Play USB webcam for video calls, streaming and online communication. Verbatim lists video modes up to 2560 x 1440 at 30 fps as well as 1920 x 1080 at 30 fps, with autofocus, automatic white balance and an integrated omnidirectional microphone.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The AWC-01 connects through a detachable Micro-USB to USB-A cable. A computer with only USB-C ports requires a suitable adapter. The camera includes a 1/4-inch tripod thread, but a tripod is not supplied. Its privacy lens cover is detachable rather than an integrated sliding shutter.

✓ Online classes and home-office communication
✓ Streaming and content creation
✓ Monitor, desktop or tripod mounting
Key Features
Up to 2560 x 1440 at 30 fps
Although Verbatim markets the AWC-01 as a Full HD 1080p webcam, its current technical specification also lists a higher 2560 x 1440 video mode at 30 fps, alongside 1920 x 1080 at 30 fps.
Autofocus and auto white balance
Autofocus operates from approximately 15 cm to infinity, while automatic white balance adjusts colour reproduction as lighting conditions change.
Integrated omnidirectional microphone
The built-in omnidirectional microphone provides audio capture without a separate microphone. Verbatim specifies a voice pickup range of at least 4 metres.
Flexible mounting and privacy
The anti-slip monitor clamp can also sit on a desktop, while the integrated 1/4-inch thread supports tripod mounting. A detachable privacy lens cover is supplied in the box.

Singular Expert Insight
The unusual detail with the AWC-01 is the way Verbatim names it. The product is sold as a Full HD 1080p Autofocus Webcam, yet the manufacturer's current specification also supports 2560 x 1440 at 30 fps. That higher mode is useful, but the 1080p naming remains part of the official model identity. Autofocus, the removable privacy cover and standard tripod thread make it more flexible than a basic fixed-focus office webcam.
