Verbatim Metal Executive 64 GB — 3.6 Grams of Gold Metal, Key Ring Included
64 GB80 MB/s read / 25 MB/s write29 x 15 x 5.5 mm, 3.6 gMetal key ring in the pack
The Verbatim Metal Executive, article 99106, is a 64 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive in an ultra-small gold metal housing measuring 29 x 15 x 5.5 mm and weighing about 3.6 g. Verbatim publishes both speeds — up to 80 MB/s read and up to 25 MB/s write — describes the design as tough, waterproof and dustproof, and puts a metal key ring in the box.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive, so it does not fit a phone or a USB-C-only laptop without an adapter, which is not supplied. Two lines share this name and only one is USB 3. Article 99106, this drive, is USB 3.2 Gen 1 in gold. Article 98750 is the Metal Executive USB 2.0 at the same 64 GB in silver — same product name, same metal concept, far slower link. Check the article number. Within the gold USB 3.2 line, 99104 is 16 GB and 99105 is 32 GB, consecutive numbers. Two further points: Verbatim publishes the drive as waterproof and dustproof but states no IP rating, so read that as robustness rather than a rating you could rely on; and the OS list for this article is older than for its plastic siblings — Windows 10, 8 and 7 and Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, with no Windows 11 and no Linux named. The drive is plain USB mass storage and needs no driver, but that is what Verbatim states.
Best For
✓ Keyring carry — Verbatim supplies the metal key ring rather than expecting you to find one
✓ Anyone who wants the smallest possible metal drive at 29 mm and 3.6 g
✓ Everyday transport of documents, photographs and installers
✓ Buyers who want both read and write published rather than a single vague figure
✓ A drive that will survive daily keychain abuse better than plastic
✓ Giving as a gift, where the gold finish and metal ring do some work
Key Features
29 mm and 3.6 grams
Ultra-small metal housing — shorter than most drives are wide, and light enough that it disappears on a keyring. Plugged in, almost nothing protrudes.
Metal key ring in the pack
Verbatim lists the key ring in the box contents, not as an accessory. On a drive this small an attachment point is the difference between keeping it and replacing it.
80 read, 25 write — both published
Verbatim states both figures for this capacity. Several of its own lines publish nothing at all, so you are buying with a fuller picture than usual.
Tough, waterproof and dustproof
Verbatim’s own description of the metal housing. No IP rating is published, so treat it as a robustly built drive rather than one rated for immersion.

Singular Expert Insight
At 29 mm and 3.6 grams this is one of the smallest full-capacity drives we stock, and the metal key ring in the box tells you what Verbatim intends: this lives on your keys, not in a drawer. It also publishes both read and write, which several Verbatim lines do not, so 80 and 25 are honest numbers you can compare. Two things to weigh. The waterproof and dustproof claim carries no IP rating behind it, and the OS list is noticeably older than on Verbatim’s plastic drives. Note too that the manufacturer term for Europe, the Middle East and Africa is two years, where Kingston, SanDisk, Transcend and Silicon Power publish five across our USB flash drives range. For files you work from rather than carry, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want the smallest metal drive you can hang on your keys, with the ring supplied, and 80 MB/s read with a published 25 MB/s write suits what you move.
Skip it if
You need a USB-C connector, or a manufacturer term longer than two years. Or you were looking at the cheaper Metal Executive and it turned out to be the USB 2.0 article 98750.
Also consider
Verbatim articles 99104 and 99105 for 16 GB and 32 GB in the same gold line. Verbatim V3 article 49174 for the same 80/25 speeds in a larger plastic body. A Kingston or SanDisk metal drive if you want a five-year manufacturer term.
