Verbatim Store ‘n’ Stay NANO 32 GB — 17 mm, 2 g, USB 2.0
32 GBUSB 2.0, Type-A10 MB/s read / 3 MB/s write17.15 x 14.85 x 7.7 mm, 2 g
The Verbatim Store ‘n’ Stay NANO is a 32 GB USB 2.0 flash drive built to be left in the port. It measures 17.15 x 14.85 x 7.7 mm and weighs about 2 g — small enough that a laptop lid closes over it and a car head unit swallows it. Verbatim publishes read speeds of up to 10 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3 MB/s.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? This is the USB 2.0 NANO, and there is a much faster one under the same name. Verbatim sells the NANO in two generations:
97464 16 GB and 98130 32 GB are USB 2.0 at 10 MB/s read and 3 MB/s write, while 98709 16 GB, 98710 32 GB and 98711 64 GB are USB 3.2 Gen 1 at 80 / 25 MB/s — eight times the read speed and eight times the write. They are also slightly different sizes: this one is 17.15 x 14.85 x 7.7 mm at 2 g, the USB 3.2 versions are 18 x 16 x 7.8 mm at 3 g. At the same 32 GB, 98710 is the direct replacement for this drive. Unless the price difference is what decides it, that is the one to buy. This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack. Be realistic about 3 MB/s write on 32 GB: filling it from empty is a job measured in hours. Load it once and read from it.Best For
✓ Leaving permanently in a car head unit, a TV or a media player that only needs to read
✓ Adding storage to a device with a spare USB-A port and no room for a full-size stick
✓ Machines where a protruding stick would be snapped off
✓ Music and documents you load once and play back
✓ Older equipment that predates USB 3 and is happier with a plain USB 2.0 device
✓ Anyone who does not want to remember to carry the drive
Key Features
17 millimetres, 2 grams
Even smaller and lighter than the USB 3.2 NANO. Inserted, it barely stands proud of the socket, so a closing laptop lid or a car dashboard will not catch it.
Capless by design
There is no cap because there is nothing to cover once the drive lives in the socket. Nothing to lose, and nothing to look for when you want it.
USB 2.0 — works in anything
A USB 2.0 device plugs into every machine ever built with a USB port, including older car head units and players that can be fussy about USB 3 devices. In this shape that is a genuine argument.
Speeds actually published
Verbatim states 10 MB/s read and 3 MB/s write for this line. Modest figures, but stated — and enough to know exactly what you are buying.

Singular Expert Insight
The NANO shape is genuinely useful — a drive that lives in a car, a television or a laptop without being a thing that catches and snaps — and this is the cheap, slow version of it. The honest position is that Verbatim sells a much better drive in the same shape at the same capacity:
98710, USB 3.2 Gen 1, 80 / 25 against 10 / 3. Unless the price gap is what decides it, buy that one. Where this drive still earns its place is in older equipment that prefers a plain USB 2.0 device, and in the read-only jobs where 3 MB/s write simply never comes up. Both sit in our USB flash drives range. For large working files rather than something left in a port, an external SSD is the right class of product.Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want to add 32 GB to a car stereo, TV or older device and leave it there, you will load it once, and USB 2.0 is what that device prefers.
Skip it if
You will write to it more than occasionally — take the USB 3.2 Gen 1 NANO 98710 instead, same shape, eight times quicker.
Also consider
Verbatim Store n Stay NANO 98710 — the 32 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 version at 80 / 25. The 16 GB USB 2.0 NANO 97464 if you need less. Any full-size stick if you will be carrying it around.
