Verbatim Slider 32 GB — Sliding Body, No Cap, USB 2.0
32 GBUSB 2.0, Type-ASliding, capless58.5 x 21 x 11 mm, 8 g
The Verbatim Store ‘n’ Go Slider is a 32 GB USB 2.0 flash drive in a black body with a sliding mechanism that protects the USB-A connector when it is not in use. Slide it open, plug it in, slide it back. It measures 58.5 x 21 x 11 mm and weighs 8 g. It is a plain, inexpensive stick for carrying documents and photographs between computers.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack, so it will not enter a phone, a tablet or a USB-C-only laptop. Be clear about the bus: this is USB 2.0. Verbatim states it will also work in a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, but that means it fits and runs, not that it goes faster — the drive itself is USB 2.0. And Verbatim publishes no MB/s figure for the Slider at any capacity, so no speed appears on this page. That is a real absence rather than an omission on our part: we checked all four sizes. What you can rely on is the ceiling, and a USB 2.0 drive is meaningfully slower than any USB 3.2 one. Two things to watch in the range. The Slider ladder is
98696 16 GB, 98697 32 GB, 98698 64 GB and 49328 128 GB — but 49326 and 49327 are multipacks (three 16 GB drives in red, blue and green; two 32 GB in red and blue), and the 32 GB two-pack sits right beside this article, so a listing that looks unusually good value at this capacity is often the pack. And the Slider is easy to mistake for the Store ‘n’ Go V3: near-identical size and finish, both black, both slide open — but the V3 is USB 3.2 Gen 1 and published at 80 MB/s read and 25 MB/s write at 32 GB.Best For
✓ Documents, spreadsheets, presentations and photographs
✓ Buying several at once where price matters more than transfer time
✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports, including older ones
✓ Equipment that predates USB 3 and prefers a plain USB 2.0 device
✓ Handing files to someone who will keep the drive
✓ Anyone who keeps losing caps — there is not one to lose
Key Features
Sliding mechanism, no cap
The connector slides out of the body and back in again. Nothing detaches, nothing rattles loose in a bag, and the contacts are covered when the drive is not in use.
8 grams
Light and unobtrusive at 58.5 x 21 x 11 mm — a conventional full-size body you can grip properly and pull out of a recessed port.
USB 2.0 — works in anything
A USB 2.0 device plugs into every machine ever built with a USB port, including older equipment that can be fussy about USB 3 devices. Genuinely useful in some settings; a limitation in most.
Windows 11 on the list
Verbatim lists Windows 11, 10 and 8 plus Mac OS X 10.4 or higher for the Slider, so it is still a currently supported product rather than a legacy one.

Singular Expert Insight
The Slider is the plain end of Verbatim’s range and it does the boring things right: nothing to lose, light, a full-size body you can grip, and a name people trust. What it does not do is give you anything to compare. Verbatim publishes no speed for it, and the bus underneath is USB 2.0, so this is a drive you buy on price and brand rather than on numbers. That is a reasonable choice for documents handed around an office. It is the wrong choice if you move photographs in quantity or video, and the honest alternative is the Store ‘n’ Go V3 from the same brand — nearly the same object to look at, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and published at 80 / 25 at this capacity. Both sit in our USB flash drives range. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a cheap 32 GB USB-A stick with no cap to lose, for documents and photographs, and USB 2.0 speed is genuinely fine.
Skip it if
Transfer time matters — take the Store n Go V3 instead, published at 80 / 25 at this capacity. Or you need a USB-C connector.
Also consider
Verbatim Store n Go V3 49173 — the 32 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 at 80 / 25. Slider 98698 for 64 GB. The 49327 two-pack if you actually want two 32 GB drives.
