Verbatim DataLife BD-R 25 GB 6x — 50-disc spindle
BD-R 25 GBUp to 6x50 discs · spindleStandard label side
The Verbatim DataLife 43838 is a 50-disc spindle of BD-R 25 GB recordable discs rated at up to 6x, with a standard label side — for offices, schools and home users who archive files, hand out data or burn video DVDs.
Each single-layer BD-R holds 25 GB — more than five DVDs — and is written once at up to 6x in a Blu-ray writer. Verbatim adds its HardCoat Scratch Guard layer to protect the recording side.
Before you order: BD-R discs need a Blu-ray writer to record and a Blu-ray drive or player to read — DVD drives and DVD players cannot read them at all.
What's in the Box
- 50 × Verbatim BD-R 25 GB discs (standard label side)
- Supplied as a spindle with protective cover
- No individual cases, sleeves or labels are included
What It Means in Practice
- 25 GB per disc suits large project folders, photo libraries and HD video masters that do not fit on a DVD.
- 6x is the maximum rating — the real speed depends on your writer, its firmware and the software. Many users burn video discs for older players at a lower speed.
- Write-once media: once written, files cannot be changed or deleted, which suits archives, legal copies and hand-outs where nobody should alter the content.
- Label the discs with a soft-tip, solvent-free disc marker on the label side.
- 50 discs per spindle — enough for a series of backups or a small distribution.
What Will Not Work
- Rewriting or erasing — these are BD-R write-once discs, not BD-RE.
- DVD drives, DVD players and CD drives — Blu-ray hardware only.
- Inkjet or thermal printing — the label side is not printable; use a disc marker.
- Adhesive paper labels on discs burned at high speed — they can unbalance the disc; use direct printing or a disc marker.
- Backups larger than 25 GB on one disc — split them or use an external hard drive.
- Laptops without an optical drive — most current models need an external USB Blu-ray writer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
BD-R makes sense when you already have a Blu-ray writer and want fewer discs per archive. For regular backups of large or growing data, an external hard drive is faster and reusable — keep discs for copies that must not change.
✓ Buy it if you need 50 BD-R discs for archiving, distribution or video DVDs.
✕ Skip it if you only have a DVD writer, or the discs must open on computers without Blu-ray.
→ Also consider a DVD+R DL 8.5 GB pack if the recipient has only a DVD drive.
