TP-Link VIGI InSight S385 — 8 MP Full-Color Bullet Camera, 2.8 mm

8 MP 4KFull colour at nightSmart detectionTwo-way audio

The TP-Link VIGI InSight S385 (2.8 mm version) is an 8 MP 4K outdoor bullet camera with an F1.6 lens and white LEDs that keep the picture in colour at night, plus IR up to 30 m. The 2.8 mm lens covers 111° horizontally, and smart detection separates people and vehicles for line-crossing, intrusion and loitering alerts. A built-in microphone and speaker allow two-way audio, and it records to a microSD card or a VIGI or ONVIF recorder. In practice it watches a driveway, car park or shop front with enough detail to recognise faces near the camera.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the 2.8 mm version — wide view, shorter detail range (identify at about 8 m). For narrower, longer coverage the 4 mm version is a different order. Power comes from PoE 802.3af/at or a 12 V DC supply, not included; no microSD card is supplied. It works on its own with the VIGI app, or with a VIGI or ONVIF NVR. Tell us the distance to the area you want covered and we suggest the lens.

Frequently Asked Questions

2.8 mm or 4 mm lens?
The 2.8 mm covers a wider area (111°) at shorter range; the 4 mm sees further in a narrower view (about 92°). This listing is the 2.8 mm.
Does it need a recorder?
No. It can record to a microSD card and run from the VIGI app. For several cameras, a VIGI or ONVIF NVR is better.
How is it powered?
By PoE 802.3af or 802.3at from a switch or injector, or by a 12 V DC adapter. Neither is included.
Is the night picture in colour?
Yes, the white LEDs light the scene for full-colour video. You can also use IR for black-and-white night view.
Singular Expert Insight
We suggest the S385 2.8 mm for entrances and car parks where a wide 4K view matters. Power it from one of our PoE switches and pair it with a VIGI NVR for continuous recording. See our IP cameras for other lenses and dome models.
