The Xerox Waste Toner Bottle 008R12896 (008R12896) is the genuine waste toner bottle that collects the excess toner left over during printing, rated by Xerox at up to 100,000 pages, for offices running Xerox mono WorkCentre, WorkCentre Pro and CopyCentre copiers from the 232/238 through 5800 series.
It is the long-standing waste toner bottle for Xerox mono A3 copier platforms, rated at up to 100,000 pages. Because one bottle spans several generations, it suits offices still running older WorkCentre 5600 or 5700 units alongside a 5800 series.
Before you order: Xerox publishes slightly different model lists on different sites. Our list follows Xerox's main supplies page; if your model is a 5735 to 5755 or 5865 to 5890, send us the model and we will confirm before you order.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Xerox Waste Toner Bottle (008R12896)
- Manufacturer packaging; return and recycling information is supplied by Xerox where applicable
What It Means in Practice
- When the printer reports that the waste toner bottle is nearly full, order this part so the replacement is on hand before the printer stops.
- Rated life is up to 100,000 pages. Real life depends on coverage, colour mix, calibration cycles and how often the machine is switched on and off, so heavy colour users replace it sooner.
- Replacement is a user task on the listed models: open the indicated cover, lift out the full container, seal it and slide the new one in. No technician visit is needed.
- A full waste toner bottle cannot be emptied and reused. Xerox designs it as a sealed, single-use part, and reusing it risks spills inside the printer.
- Keep one spare per printer in busy offices, because the printer will not print until a full container has been replaced.
- Handle the full waste toner bottle carefully: keep it upright, close any caps or seals supplied, and place it in the packaging of the new unit before disposal or return.
- Store the spare in its sealed packaging at normal office temperature, away from direct sunlight, until the printer asks for it.
What Will Not Work
- Xerox colour WorkCentre and AltaLink colour systems, which use different waste containers.
- Xerox AltaLink B8000 series and VersaLink mono models.
- It contains no toner: the toner cartridges are ordered separately.
- A full bottle cannot be emptied and refitted.
Key Features
Genuine Xerox part
Made by Xerox for the listed printers, so it fits the slot exactly and the printer recognises the fill level correctly.
Rated up to 100,000 pages
Capacity published by Xerox: up to 100,000 pages. One container lasts through several toner changes on typical office volumes.
Clean handling
The container is designed to be removed and closed off without exposing toner, which keeps the office and the inside of the printer clean.
Planned maintenance
Because the printer warns before the container is full, you can schedule the swap together with toner orders and avoid unplanned downtime.
