WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive for Xbox 2TB
2TBUSB 3.2 Gen 1Portable 2.5-inchBus-poweredUp to 130 MB/s
The WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive for Xbox 2TB (part number WDBA6U0020BBK) is a portable 2.5-inch external hard drive connecting over USB 3.2 Gen 1 at up to 5 Gb/s. It is the Xbox edition of the WD_BLACK P10: a compact bus-powered drive with a brushed metal top, reading at up to 130 MB/s, with a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial included for new members.
Before you buy: this is a mechanical 2.5-inch drive rather than an SSD, and Western Digital publishes no shock or drop rating for it despite the gaming branding. More importantly, Xbox Series X and S titles cannot be played from an external USB drive at all; they must sit on the internal SSD or an official expansion card. Xbox One and backward-compatible games run directly from this drive. So treat it as a storage and transfer library rather than the drive you actually play current-generation games from. The drive connects with the supplied USB Type-A to Micro-B cable; if your computer only has USB-C ports you will need an adapter or a USB-C to Micro-B cable, which is not included. It is bus-powered, so the single USB cable carries both data and power and there is no mains adapter to find a socket for.
Best For
✓ Storing an Xbox game library
Enough room to keep dozens of titles installed instead of deleting and redownloading.
✓ Playing Xbox One and backward-compatible titles
Those run directly from an external USB drive at usable speed.
✓ Moving games between consoles
Bus-powered and pocket-sized, so it travels with a single cable.
✓ Avoiding redownloads
Copying a Series X or S title back from this drive is far faster than downloading it again.
Key Features
Bus-powered
A single USB cable carries data and power, so there is no mains adapter to pack.
Up to 130 MB/s read
The read figure Western Digital publishes, typical of a bus-powered 2.5-inch mechanism.
2TB capacity
Room for a large installed library at a fraction of the cost of internal console storage.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial
A one-month trial is included for new members.
Brushed metal top
A metal cover over the enclosure, though Western Digital publishes no shock or drop rating.
USB 3.2 Gen 1
Backward compatible with USB 2.0, so it works with older consoles at lower speed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Xbox Series X or S games from the WDBA6U0020BBK?
No. Games built for Xbox Series X and S must run from the internal SSD or an official Storage Expansion Card. This drive stores them, and you copy them across when you want to play, which is much faster than redownloading. Xbox One and backward-compatible titles do run directly from it.
Does the WDBA6U0020BBK need a power adapter?
No. It is bus-powered, so the supplied USB cable carries both data and power.
What is the difference between the P10 for Xbox and the standard P10?
The hardware is the same portable drive. The Xbox edition carries Xbox branding and includes a one-month Game Pass Ultimate trial, and Western Digital lists its compatibility as Xbox only. The standard P10 lists PC, Mac, PlayStation and Xbox.
What do I need to know before buying the WDBA6U0020BBK?
It arrives formatted and ready to use but you may want to reformat it for your operating system, which erases the contents. It is bus-powered from the USB cable. A single external drive is not a backup strategy on its own; keep a second copy of anything irreplaceable.
Singular Expert Insight
The P10 for Xbox is a sensible way to stop deleting games, provided you understand what Microsoft allows. Current-generation Series X and S titles simply cannot run from USB, so this is a library and transfer drive, not a play-from drive for new games. For Xbox One and backward-compatible titles it works directly and the 130 MB/s read is adequate. Do not read too much into the gaming branding on durability, since Western Digital publishes no shock or drop rating for it. Buyer's Guide
Buy this if
You want cheap bulk storage for an Xbox library and you are comfortable copying current-generation titles back to internal storage to play them.
Skip if
You expected to play Xbox Series X or S games directly from it. That is not possible on any external USB drive; you need an official Storage Expansion Card.
Also consider
An official Xbox Storage Expansion Card for playing current-generation titles, the standard WD_BLACK P10 if you also use a PC or PlayStation, or WD_BLACK D10 for a faster fixed setup.
