The WEDO Cutter Safety 18 mm 2-in-1, article 787018, is the one cutter in WEDO’s range that does both jobs. Used as a conventional knife, the 18 mm snap-off blade pushes forward on the standard ratchet lock and stays where you put it for long cuts. Used as a safety cutter, the spring-loaded blade retracts into the handle the instant it loses contact with the material. The body is metal with a rubberised grip zone and a metal blade guide, and the break-off device for snapping a used blade segment is built into the handle rather than being a separate tool to lose. This model uses an 18 mm snap-off blade, not the trapezoid blades of WEDO’s pure safety cutters — so blades are not interchangeable with the PROFI 78845, PROFI PLUS 78850, Premium 78815 or Plus 837 78837. No spare blades are included: the cutter arrives on a blister card with one break-off blade already fitted, so order a pack of 18 mm replacement blades alongside it. There is no cutting-depth wheel and no blade magazine in the handle. Note also that while WEDO specifies this cutter as silver and black, several retailer listings describe it as black and red; the manufacturer figure is the one we follow.
