The 838 RA-R L is the longest of Wera’s 838 bit-holding screwdrivers: 140 mm overall on a 111 mm Kraftform handle, with a fine-toothed ratchet built inside so the wrist resets without releasing the grip. The R in the name is the Rapidaptor quick-release chuck — bits are pushed in one-handed and released without touching the working end, with rapid-in, rapid-out, rapid-spin and chuck-all action. A ring switch selects clockwise, anti-clockwise, or 0, where the ratchet is deactivated and the driver turns rigidly. A strong permanent magnet holds the bit in the 1/4 inch hex mounting. It takes standard 1/4 inch hex bits to DIN ISO 1173-C 6.3 and E 6.3. The 838 family runs RA S at 102 mm with a magnetic mounting and no Rapidaptor, RA-R M at 123.5 mm and this RA-R L at 140 mm.
