The Wera Bit-Check 6 Wood TX HF 1 SB is a small, deliberately focused set: six 50 mm TORX bits from the 867/4 TORX HF series, in the sizes wood screws actually use. HF stands for holding function, and it is the whole point of the set — the tip geometry is shaped so that surface pressure between the bit and the screw recess wedges the screw onto the bit. No magnet and no sleeve is involved, which means it works just as well on stainless and non-magnetic fasteners, and it lets you place and start a screw one-handed, overhead or at arm’s length. This set contains six bits and no bit holder — you will need your own 1/4″ holder or a chuck that takes bits directly. The bits are 50 mm long with the drive specified to DIN ISO 1173-F 6.3, which differs from the D 6.3 specification Wera gives for its 25 mm bits. One detail Wera states in a footnote rather than in the headline: the TX 40 bit has a hexagonal blade shank and does not carry the Take it easy colour coding, so five of the six bits are colour-coded, not all six. The holding function is a geometric feature of the tip, so it depends on the screw recess being in good condition — on a worn or damaged recess the grip will be weaker.

The bit tip is shaped so that surface pressure between the tip and the screw recess clamps the screw in place. Because the effect is mechanical rather than magnetic, it works on stainless and other non-magnetic screws where a magnetic holder gives up entirely.
