The 838 RA S Set 1 is the compact member of Wera’s Kraftform Kompakt ratcheting family: a 102 mm bit-holding handle with the ratchet built inside it, plus thirteen 50 mm BiTorsion bits covering Phillips PH 1 and PH 2, Pozidriv PZ 1 and PZ 2, TORX TX 10 to TX 25, Hex-Plus 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 mm, and a 0.8 x 5.5 slotted. A three-position switch selects clockwise, anti-clockwise or 0, which locks the ratchet out so the driver turns rigidly, and the handle can be twirled to spin a screw down. Everything travels in a textile pouch with a loop-pile back that docks into the Wera 2go system. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The S handle has a magnetic bit mounting, not a Rapidaptor quick-release — the missing hyphen-R in the designation is meaningful. If you want Rapidaptor, that is the 838 RA-R M Set 1 (05051061001), which also uses 89 mm bits rather than the 50 mm bits here. The handle is counted in the fourteen, unlike the Kraftform Kompakt 27 and 28 RA drivers where Wera counts only the bits. The tool is not insulated, not VDE-approved and not impact-rated, has no torque function, no telescopic blade and no bit magazine in the handle.

Ratchet Inside a 102 mm Handle
A 36-tooth mechanism with a 10° return angle sits in the handle itself, so the tool stays short and slim while the wrist resets without letting go. At 102 mm it is the smallest of the 838 family.
Three-Position Switch
Right, left, and 0 — the last locks the ratchet out so the driver works rigidly. That is what you want for the final tightening, where ratchet play robs you of feel. The handle can also be twirled for fast spinning.
