The Wera Kraftform Kompakt 900 Set 1 (part number 05018110001) is a 19-piece interchangeable-bit screwdriver set with a manually switchable impact function, built for one job in particular: loosening stubborn screw connections. The 921 Kraftform Plus impact screwdriver converts a hammer blow into rotary movement, generating roughly 25 Nm of loosening torque, and switches back to a normal screwdriver when the impact function is not wanted. Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a loosening tool, not a torque tool: the roughly 25 Nm figure is the loosening capability produced by a hammer blow, and Wera publishes no accuracy figure and cites no torque standard for it. Use only the supplied S-series impact bits in the 921 — ordinary or torsion bits are not built to take hammer blows. Note that Wera’s own web pages corrupt the contents list by merging the quantity digit into the size, showing the Hex-Plus bits as 13, 14, 15 and 16 mm; they are 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm. Nothing in the set is insulated or VDE-tested, so it must never be used on live parts.

Key Features
Switchable manual impact function
A hammer blow on the end cap is converted into rotary movement, delivering approximately 25 Nm of loosening torque to break a seized screw free. The function switches on and off, so the same tool works as an ordinary screwdriver for the rest of the job.
Pound-thru blade and hexagon bolster
The blade runs right through the handle, so Wera can state the hammer blow is transmitted without loss rather than being absorbed by the grip. A hexagon bolster takes a size 13 open-end spanner when even more turning force is needed.
Eighteen dedicated impact bits
S-series bits made specifically for impact screwdrivers: Phillips PH 1 to PH 3, Pozidriv PZ 1 to PZ 3, TORX TX 15 to TX 40, Hex-Plus 3 to 6 mm and slotted 4, 5.5 and 6.5 mm, all 70 mm long. Wera specifies them as specially hardened and extra tough to resist premature breakage.

A manual impact driver is one of those tools that sits unused for months and then saves an afternoon. The reason it works where a good screwdriver does not is that the hammer blow applies axial force and rotation at the same instant, so the bit is driven into the recess exactly when the turning force arrives rather than climbing out of it. That is also why the dedicated S bits matter: this is a shock load, and an ordinary bit will eventually shatter under it. Two things to be clear about before ordering. It is not a torque tool, and the 25 Nm is a loosening figure with no standard behind it; and it is not insulated, so it stays away from live work.
