The Wera Kraftform Kompakt VDE 17 RA 1 (part number 05006618001) puts a ratchet inside an insulated screwdriver handle. It pairs the 837 i RA blade-holding handle, which carries an integrated 40-tooth ratchet with a 9 degree return angle, with a standard 817 VDE handle and fifteen interchangeable VDE blades at 157 mm. Every piece is individually tested in a water quench at 10,000 V in accordance with IEC 60900 for approved working at 1,000 V, so the ratchet advantage is available on live-adjacent work rather than only on the bench. The ratchet handle itself is insulated — the i in 837 i RA means exactly that, and Wera tests it individually at 10,000 V per IEC 60900 like every blade in the set. The whole set is insulated. Note the blade mix: fourteen of the fifteen blades are standard diameter (i) and only one is the reduced-diameter slim type (iS), the 0.6 x 3.5 mm slotted, so this is not the set to buy if reaching deep into recessed spring terminals is your main problem. The two blades marked number 1 and number 2 are PZ/S PlusMinus combinations, not plain slotted, which many listings get wrong. VDE blades keep their rating only in a VDE handle.
