Kraftform Kompakt VDE 17 Universal 1 pairs two 817 VDE blade-holding handles with fifteen insulated 157 mm blades — Phillips, Pozidriv, PlusMinus PZ/S, TORX and five slotted widths from 2.5 to 6.5 mm. Two handles is the point of this set rather than one: the profile you are using and the one you are about to need can both stay assembled, which is what makes an interchangeable-blade system practical on a live-capable job. Every insulated part is individually tested at 10,000 volts in a water bath and approved for work up to 1,000 volts, and the whole set folds into a fleece-lined textile pouch. Compatibility — check before buying:
The handles take Wera VDE interchangeable blades only — they are not 1/4 inch bit holders, and no adapter would preserve the insulation rating. The set has no torque function, and contains no hex or square blades, no VDE pliers, no cable knife and no voltage tester. Note the # 1 and # 2 blades are 65 i PZ/S PlusMinus (Pozidriv and slotted combination), not plain slotted, despite how some resellers list them. Wera states the 1,000 V rating without an AC/DC split.

Two Handles, Fifteen Blades
Both 817 VDE Kraftform handles accept every blade in the set, so two profiles stay ready at once. That is the practical difference between this set and the 16-piece extra slim version, which supplies a single handle.
Five Slotted Widths
Slotted coverage runs 0.4 x 2.5, 0.6 x 3.5, 0.8 x 4, 1 x 5.5 and 1.2 x 6.5 mm, which spans small terminal screws through to distribution board and busbar work without a second set.
Individually Tested to IEC 60900
Each insulated piece is tested at 10,000 V in a water bath and GS-tested, with a permitted working voltage of 1,000 V. Blades use a reduced shaft diameter with the insulation carried down to an integrated stop.
