Wera Kraftform Kompakt W Imperial 1 Maintenance — 35-piece VDE and imperial socket set in a textile box
35 pieces12 VDE blades, 1000 VImperial sockets 7/32–9/16 inSquare drive blades # 1 and # 2
The Wera Kraftform Kompakt W Imperial 1 Maintenance (part number 05135871001) is the imperial version of Wera’s 35-piece maintenance set, pairing VDE screwdriving with a 1/4 inch Zyklop socket system in one textile box. An 817 VDE blade-holding handle and twelve interchangeable insulated blades, individually tested at 10,000 V to IEC 60900 for approved 1,000 V working, sit alongside an 8000 A Zyklop Speed ratchet, eight imperial sockets from 7/32 to 9/16 inch, imperial hex bits and a 1/2 inch ratcheting Joker wrench. It is aimed at technicians working on imperial-sized equipment. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the imperial set: sockets run 7/32 to 9/16 inch, the hex bits are imperial and the Joker is a 1/2 inch ratcheting combination wrench, so there are no metric sizes in the mechanical half. On the screwdriving side the two Pozidriv blades of the metric versions are replaced by square (Robertson) blades # 1 and # 2, so this set has no PZ capability. Only the 817 VDE handle and the twelve VDE blades are individually tested at 10,000 V to IEC 60900 for 1,000 V working; the ratchet, sockets, bits, wrench, screw gripper and the 335 screwdriver are not insulated. Note also that Wera’s own feature text on this article mentions a 3817 VDE handle while its contents table lists the 817 VDE; the contents table is authoritative.
Best For
✓ Imperial-sized plant and equipment
✓ North American machinery and fixings
✓ Square drive (Robertson) screws
✓ Building services and facilities maintenance
✓ Technicians who need VDE and sockets in one box
✓ Mixed indoor and outdoor service calls
Key Features
Imperial sockets and hex bits throughout
Eight 8790 HMA Zyklop sockets cover 7/32, 1/4, 9/32, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 and 9/16 inch, and the four 840/1 Z hex bits are imperial as printed by Wera: 1/8, 5/32, 1/4 and 7/32 inch. That makes it the right choice for equipment that was never specified in millimetres.
Square drive blades instead of Pozidriv
Where the metric sets carry PZ 1 and PZ 2, this one carries 68 iS square drive blades # 1 and # 2, the Robertson profile common on North American electrical accessories. The remaining ten blades are the same slotted, Phillips and TORX range.
Ratcheting 1/2 inch Joker wrench
Instead of the 6002 double open-end wrench of the metric sets, the imperial version includes a 6000 Joker ratcheting combination wrench at 1/2 inch x 177 mm, so the wrench half of the set ratchets rather than needing a full swing.
817 VDE handle with twelve insulated blades
Wera tests the handle and each blade individually at 10,000 V in accordance with IEC 60900, licensing safe working at 1,000 V. The blades are 157 mm with a spinning function, anti-roll protection and Take it easy colour coding by profile with laser-engraved sizes.

Singular Expert Insight
Buying the imperial version is a decision about the equipment in front of you rather than about the tools. If you service North American machinery, older plant or anything specified in inches, a metric set turns every socket into a near-fit that eventually rounds the nut, and near-fit is worse than no fit. Wera also uses this version to swap in square drive blades, which tells you the market it is aimed at, and it upgrades the wrench to a ratcheting 1/2 inch Joker, which is a genuine improvement over the metric double open-end. Two details are worth checking before ordering: Wera prints the hex bit run as 1/8, 5/32, 1/4 and 7/32 inch, skipping 3/16, and its own feature text on this article names a 3817 handle while the contents list says 817. Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You service imperial-sized equipment, need square drive as well as Phillips and TORX, and want a genuine 1,000 V VDE handle and blade set in the same box as the sockets.
Skip it if
Your fasteners are metric, you need Pozidriv blades, or you need every tool in the box to be insulated.
Also consider
The Wera Kraftform Kompakt W 1 Maintenance or W 2 Maintenance for the metric versions of the same set, or the Kraftform Kompakt VDE 17 extra slim 1 for purely electrical work.
