Shuttle XPC slim XB860G2 Barebone Mini PC
LGA1851 Intel Core Ultra 200; up to 65W base TDPDDR5-5600 SO-DIMM; up to 96GB3 × M.2 2280; no 2.5/3.5-inch bayPCIe x16/x1; 180W adapter included
The Shuttle XPC slim XB860G2 (SKU XB860G2) is a black barebone platform with an Intel B860 motherboard, chassis, cooling and external 180W adapter. It is not a ready-to-use PC: add a compatible LGA1851 Intel Core Ultra 200-series processor with integrated graphics, DDR5 SO-DIMM memory, M.2 storage and an operating system before use.
Best For: For builders and deployments that need a compact Shuttle barebone with PCIe expansion, three M.2 positions, dual LAN and three standard digital display outputs. It requires compatible components and assembly; it is not ready to boot as supplied.
Before you order: You must add a supported LGA1851 CPU with integrated graphics, DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM, M.2 SSD storage and an OS. Check the exact CPU/BIOS list and the limits on processor base TDP, card size and power. A dual-slot card occupies the second PCIe slot; the 180W adapter does not raise the standard 75W card limit. Optional VGA, wireless/cellular modules, antennas, cards and any higher-power expansion parts are separate. HDMI 2.1 at 8K disables the other HDMI output. The USB-C port is data-only.
What's in the Box
- Barebone chassis and motherboard
- Preinstalled CPU heatpipe cooling system with thermal compound
- External fanless 180W power adapter and AC cord
- Multilingual installation guide
- DVD with Windows 11 driver software and PDF manuals; no OS licence or installed DVD drive
- CPU socket protector
- Underside M.2 SSD heatsink kit with screws and four thermal pads
- Metal VESA mount for 75 × 75mm and 100 × 100mm patterns
- VESA, M.2 and WLAN mounting screws
What It Means in Practice
- Choose the CPU from Shuttle’s exact compatibility list: it must be an LGA1851 Intel Core Ultra 200-series model with integrated graphics and a maximum 65W base TDP. F-suffix CPUs are incompatible; K-series unlocking is unsupported.
- Install compatible unbuffered, non-ECC DDR5-5600 SO-DIMMs; two compatible 48GB modules allow up to 96GB, but no RAM is supplied.
- There are three M.2 2280 positions, but no 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive bay. The underside Gen5 slot needs the included heatsink/thermal-pad kit and installation as specified.
- The three digital outputs depend on the installed CPU graphics and display setup. HDMI 2.1 at 8K disables the second HDMI port; the optional VGA adapter is separate.
What Will Not Work
- CPU, RAM, storage and operating system/licence are not included; the barebone needs these components and installation before use.
- CPUs without integrated graphics, including F-suffix models, are incompatible; the processor must meet the 65W maximum base-TDP limit and exact CPU/BIOS compatibility list. K-series unlocking is unsupported.
- A standard PCIe x16 card is limited to 205 × 120 × 45mm and 75W. A dual-slot card occupies the second slot. Higher-power support requires optional PRC02 and a suitable second adapter, neither included.
- At HDMI 2.1 8K operation, the second HDMI port cannot be used. Optional VGA is not a standard output; USB-C video is not specified.
- No 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive bay. M.2 slot 1’s SATA support is not a SATA drive bay.
- No WLAN/Bluetooth or cellular module is installed. WLAN/cellular kits, antennas, cellular card, SIM and plan are separate requirements as applicable.
- The main unit accepts 19.5V DC only; it does not accept 12V or USB-C bus power.
- Install in a ventilated location within 0–50°C and 10–90% relative humidity, non-condensing. Above 40°C ambient, Shuttle strongly recommends SSDs instead of hard disk drives.
Key Features
PCIe expansion
Preinstalled Gen5 x16 and Gen4 x1 riser supports compatible cards within the stated size and standard 75W limit.
Three M.2 positions
Supports three M.2 2280 SSDs across Gen4 and Gen5 interfaces; storage must be added, and the underside slot uses the supplied cooling kit.
Dual wired LAN
Separate 2.5GbE and 1GbE ports, with PXE and Wake-on-LAN support; power-interruption S5 WOL requires the 2.5G port and specified BIOS settings.
Flexible mounting
The included VESA mount supports 75 × 75mm and 100 × 100mm patterns and allows horizontal or vertical chassis placement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a complete, ready-to-use PC?
No. It is a barebone; CPU, RAM, storage and OS/licence are not included and must be selected and installed.
Which processor can I install?
A compatible LGA1851 Intel Core Ultra 200-series Ultra 9/7/5 processor with integrated graphics and no more than 65W base TDP. Check Shuttle’s exact CPU/BIOS list. F-suffix CPUs are incompatible and K-series unlocking is unsupported.
Can I install a graphics card?
The preinstalled riser has PCIe Gen5 x16 and Gen4 x1. An x16 card must fit within 205 × 120 × 45mm and the standard 75W limit; a dual-slot card uses the second slot. Higher-power support needs the separate PRC02 kit and suitable second adapter.
What comes with it, and is Windows included?
The box includes the barebone, cooler, 180W adapter and AC cord, installation guide, driver/manual DVD, socket protector, M.2 cooling kit, VESA mount and specified screws. No OS or licence is included; the DVD is not an installed optical drive.
Singular Expert Insight
The practical distinction is the combination of a slim chassis, a preinstalled PCIe x16/x1 riser, three M.2 slots and an included 180W adapter. The standard x16 card limit remains 75W; greater graphics-card power needs the separate PRC02 kit and a suitable second adapter.
