The Xerox 013R00650 is the genuine charge corotron assembly for the black (K) drum position on the Xerox Colour 550/560/570, Colour C60/C70, PrimeLink C9065/C9070, Xerox 700/700i, WorkCentre 7655/7665/7675 and DocuColor 242/252/260, rated by Xerox at approximately 190,000 pages.
The charge corotron puts an even electrical charge on the drum before the image is written. When it is worn or contaminated you typically see streaks, background haze or uneven density in black areas, and the machine reports the corotron at end of life. Xerox classes it as a customer-replaceable unit.
Before you order: 013R00650 is the corotron for the black drum. The colour (C, M, Y) positions use a separate corotron part — check which position the machine is asking for before ordering.

What It Means in Practice

- It is fitted from the drum drawer: pull out the drawer, remove the old assembly and push the new one in until the amber casings click into place.
- Keep the corotron wire clean and avoid touching it during installation.
- Because black is used on almost every page, the K corotron usually falls due before the colour ones.
What Will Not Work
- It does not fit the cyan, magenta or yellow positions.
- It will not fix fusing faults (toner rubbing off), which point to the fuser module.
