Yealink BH72 — UC Bluetooth Headset with Wireless Charging Stand
Charging stand includedUp to 35 h talk timeRetractable hidden boom arm189 g on-ear comfort
The Yealink BH72 is the essential-tier Bluetooth business headset in the BH7 range: the same 35 mm driver and the same 35 hours of talk time as the premium models, without active noise cancellation and at a much lighter 189 g. This article, 1208615, is the UC edition in light gray and it is the version supplied with the BHC76 wireless charging stand, so the headset docks on the desk and tops up between calls. A retractable boom arm hides into the headband and a busylight on both sides tells the room you are busy.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things to check before ordering. First, the edition: this is the UC edition, and Yealink states in its own quick start guide that only the Teams edition can connect to Microsoft Teams. If your office runs on Teams, ask us for the Teams part number instead of ordering this one. Second, the dongle: this article is the USB-A version and it ships the BT51-A dongle, so on a laptop with only USB-C ports you will need your own adapter or hub, or the USB-C article. There is no active noise cancellation on the BH72 at all — Yealink prints N/A for it, and the noise reduction here is the angled ear-cushion design with oval memory foam, which is passive. There is no 3.5 mm jack either, so a desk phone without Bluetooth cannot use this headset. Ear cushions are consumable parts and are excluded from Yealink warranty cover unless dead on arrival.
Best For
✓ Desks that want the headset charged and docked between calls
✓ Long days where 189 g beats a heavier ANC headset
✓ Call handling with up to 35 hours of talk time per charge
✓ Mixed softphone estates on Zoom, Google Meet, Webex or Cisco
✓ Open-plan offices that need a visible busylight as a do-not-disturb sign
✓ Teams that want a professional boom microphone that disappears when not in use
Key Features
Charging stand in the box
This article ships with the BHC76 wireless charging stand and its power adapter, which on most BH7 articles are optional extras. The headset sits upright on the desk, charges wirelessly and the busylight stays visible while it does.
Retractable hidden boom arm
The boom slides back into the headband, so you get a proper directional microphone for calls and a headset that does not look like a call-centre headset when the call ends.
35 hours of talk, 40 hours of music
Yealink publishes up to 35 hours of talk time and 40 hours of music, with 112 hours of standby. Charging takes up to two hours by cable or up to three on the wireless stand.
Two-microphone array with Acoustic Shield
One directional electret condenser microphone plus one analog MEMS, with Yealink Acoustic Shield and beamforming to keep your voice ahead of the room for the person on the other end.

Singular Expert Insight
The BH72 is the sensible article in this range. You keep the things people actually use every day — the 35 mm driver, the 35-hour battery, the retractable boom, the dual-side busylight — and you drop the ANC, which is what makes it 189 g instead of 285 g. This particular code is also the one with the BHC76 charging stand in the box, which is worth more on a shared or hot desk than a noise-cancelling circuit. Two mis-orders to avoid: the Teams edition is a different part number and Yealink says the UC edition will not connect to Teams, and this is the USB-A dongle version, so a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter. If the room really is loud, do not talk yourself into the BH72 — the BH76 or BH76 Plus is the article for that, and there is no upgrade path from this one. The alternatives, including the wired and DECT options for desk phones, are in our Office & VoIP Headsets category, and Headphones covers the analogue boom-mic models. Send us your softphone and your laptop ports and we will confirm the code.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a light Bluetooth business headset with a professional boom microphone, a full working day of talk time and the wireless charging stand already in the box, on a softphone other than Microsoft Teams.
Skip it if
Your office is noisy enough to need active noise cancellation — the BH72 has none, and the BH76 is the article for that. Skip it too if you run Microsoft Teams, because Yealink says only the Teams edition connects to it, or if your laptop has no USB-A port for the BT51-A dongle.
Also consider
Yealink BH76 or BH76 Plus if you need ANC and a five-microphone array, the BH72 Teams edition if your platform is Teams, or a Jabra Evolve2 65 if you want a 35-hour battery with a longer-established support ecosystem.
