The Yealink WH64 Hybrid is a different product from the plain WH64, not a variant of it: both radios live inside the headset instead of in a base station, which is why Yealink markets it as a hybrid DECT and Bluetooth design. Part number 1208686 is the dual-ear UC version. It holds two connections at the same time, one DECT and one Bluetooth, reaches up to 150 m on the DECT link and runs 16 hours of talk on DECT or 32 hours over Bluetooth. Three microphones with Yealink Acoustic Shield technology handle the room behind you, and a busylight on each side shows the office when you are on a call.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The important difference from the base-station WH64: this model has no WHB640 base and no desk phone port. If you are replacing base-station headsets on a floor of IP phones, this is not a like-for-like swap — the deskphone path disappears. The DECT link runs through the WDD60 dongle, which Yealink lists as an accessory, and the charging stand is optional: there are separate order codes for the versions that include one. Yealink does not publish a package-contents list or a DECT frequency band for the Hybrid, so we do not guess at either. It also publishes no active noise cancellation claim — the three-microphone system works on what the far end hears. Yealink gave two genuinely different products the same model number, and that is the thing to get right before ordering. The WH64 with the WHB640 base is the one for a desk that still has an IP phone: 185 m of range and both devices served at once. The WH64 Hybrid, this one, drops the base entirely and puts DECT and Bluetooth into the headset, which suits a computer-only desk and travels far better — there is simply less to carry. What you give up is the desk phone path and 35 m of range. Be aware too that Yealink publishes less about the Hybrid than about the base model: no package list, no DECT band and no warranty term appear in its documents, and its own pages disagree on whether the noise system is Acoustic Shield 2.0 or 3.0.
