Yubico YubiKey 5C Nano — USB-C Security Key That Stays in Your Laptop
USB-C nanoFIDO2 passkeysPIV · OpenPGPNo NFC
The Yubico YubiKey 5C Nano is a tiny USB-C hardware security key made to live in one port of your laptop. It barely sticks out, so you leave it plugged in and touch its edge whenever a website or app asks for your second factor or a passkey. It stores up to 100 passkeys and supports FIDO2, U2F, smart card (PIV), OpenPGP, Yubico OTP and OATH, so it protects Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, password managers, GitHub and Windows or macOS smart-card sign-in. It weighs 1 g, needs no battery, and is IP68 water and dust resistant. In practice, the 5C Nano makes strong sign-in effortless on one machine: the key is always there, and because it only answers the real website, phishing pages get nothing.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The 5C Nano has no NFC, so tapping it on a phone does not work. Phones need a USB-C port (Android, or iPhone 15 and later). It fits USB-C ports only, not USB-A. Because it stays in one laptop, it protects that machine; for signing in on several devices, a keyring key such as the YubiKey 5C NFC is easier. Register a backup key on every account. Not sure it fits? Send us the model of your device, terminal or desk setup and we check it before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it with my phone?
Only through a USB-C port — Android phones, or iPhone 15 and later. There is no NFC, so tapping does not work.
Is it safe to leave it in the laptop?
That is how it is designed. It only responds after a touch and, for passkeys, after your PIN. If the laptop is stolen, revoke the key on your accounts and use your backup key.
Nano or 5C NFC?
The Nano stays in one laptop. The 5C NFC is a keyring key with USB-C and NFC for moving between a computer and a phone.
Do I need two?
We recommend registering a second key as a backup on every account, so losing one never locks you out.
Singular Expert Insight
We suggest the 5C Nano to people who sign in dozens of times a day on the same USB-C laptop — developers, IT admins, finance staff. Pair it with a second key kept at home as backup. If you also need to sign in on your phone by tapping, the 5C NFC is the better single key. Every order is backed by Singular’s local support in Cyprus — if something does not fit or work as expected, call us and we sort it out with you. Browse more
