Zebra Z-Select 2000D Direct Thermal Labels — 102 x 64 mm, 1,100 per Roll, Box of 12
102 x 64 mm1,100 labels/roll × 12Direct thermal25 mm core · 127 mm OD
The Zebra Z-Select 2000D 102 x 64 mm is a box of 12 rolls of white direct thermal paper labels, 1,100 labels per roll (13,200 labels in total), wound on a 25 mm core for Zebra 4-inch desktop label printers — made for product, carton and address labels in warehouses, shops and offices.
Z-Select 2000D is Zebra's topcoated direct thermal paper: the print appears where the printhead heats the label, so there is no ribbon to buy or change. The topcoat gives sharper barcodes than uncoated economy paper and gives the image some protection against handling, light moisture and the occasional scratch, which matters when a barcode has to scan first time at the end of its journey.
Before you order: This is a desktop roll: 25 mm core and 127 mm (5 in) outer diameter, 102 mm wide. It needs a printer that takes 4-inch (104 mm) media. Two-inch printers such as the ZD410 or LP 2824 cannot take a 102 mm label, and industrial printers built for 76 mm cores need a core adapter.
What's in the Box
- 12 rolls of Zebra Z-Select 2000D labels, 102 x 64 mm, 1,100 labels per roll
- 13,200 labels in total, white, permanent adhesive on a glassine liner
- 25 mm (1 in) core, 127 mm (5 in) maximum outer diameter per roll
- No ribbon — not needed for direct thermal printing
What It Means in Practice
- Typical uses: product labels with barcode plus text, small carton labels and address labels.
- Load a roll and print: in a direct thermal printer there is nothing else to fit. In a thermal transfer desktop printer (e.g. ZD421t, GK420t) remove the ribbon and switch the media type to direct thermal before printing.
- Direct thermal images are heat- and light-sensitive. Zebra rates Z-Select 2000D for indoor use for up to about a year — fine for shipping, retail and stock labels, not for labels that must survive years on an asset or outdoors.
- Store unopened boxes cool and dark: Zebra specifies around 6 months at 20–25 °C and 40–50% relative humidity for best results.
What Will Not Work
- Inkjet or laser printers — these are thermal labels on a roll, not sheets.
- 2-inch desktop printers (ZD410, LP 2824, TLP 2824 and similar): the 102 mm label is wider than their maximum media width.
- Long-life or outdoor labels: direct thermal paper fades with heat, sunlight and time. For permanent asset or outdoor labelling use a thermal transfer material with a ribbon.
- Hot or frozen surfaces at application: the minimum application temperature is 0 °C, so apply labels before items go into deep freeze.
Key Features
No ribbon, lower running cost
Direct thermal printing removes ribbon cost and ribbon changes — the right choice for high-volume, short-life labels such as shipping and retail.
Topcoated paper
The topcoat improves print definition and barcode readability and protects the image from light handling and smudging.
Wide service range
Once applied and cured, Zebra rates the label from −40 °C to +50 °C, so it also works in chilled storage when applied above 0 °C.
Food-contact compliant adhesive
Zebra lists compliance with EC 1935/2004, EU 10/2011 and FDA 175.105 for dry food contact; BPA and latex free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a ribbon?
No. Z-Select 2000D is direct thermal paper. If your printer is a thermal transfer model, take the ribbon out and set it to direct thermal mode.
Will these fit my non-Zebra 4-inch printer?
Usually yes if the printer takes 102 mm wide media on a 25 mm core with a 127 mm roll diameter, and uses gap sensing. Tell us the model and we will confirm.
How long will the print last?
Zebra rates it for indoor use up to about a year. Heat, direct sunlight, oils and plasticisers shorten that — use thermal transfer labels for anything long-term.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For short-life labels — shipping, retail, stock and picking — Z-Select 2000D on a 25 mm core is the default Zebra desktop label: no ribbon, good barcode quality and a box of 12 lasts a busy desk a long time. The decision points are size and printer width: 102 x 64 mm needs a 4-inch printer. See all our
Zebra labels and wristbands if you need a different size, a removable adhesive or a long-life thermal transfer label.
✓ Buy it if you print product, carton and address labels on a Zebra 4-inch desktop printer (ZD421d, ZD621d, ZD220d/ZD230d, GK420d, GX420d or a thermal transfer model in direct thermal mode) and labels are needed for months, not years.
✕ Skip it if your printer is a 2-inch model, uses 76 mm cores only, or the label must last for years, outdoors or near heat.
→ Also consider a thermal transfer label such as Zebra Z-Perform 1000T or Z-Ultimate 3000T with a ribbon for long-life or outdoor labels.
