BUYER'S GUIDE
Best For: Retail POS, hospitality checkout, pharmacy, and any environment where both 1D and 2D barcodes need to be scanned — including QR codes on customer smartphones. The presentation cradle makes it ideal for fixed checkout counters.
DS2278 vs. LI4278: The DS2278 reads 1D and 2D barcodes (QR, Data Matrix, etc.), while the LI4278 is 1D only. If your POS needs to scan loyalty app QR codes, mobile coupons, or 2D tickets, the DS2278 is the right choice.
Know Before You Buy: IP52 means protected against light dust and vertical drips — not suitable for wet or outdoor environments. The 14-hour battery is rated for typical scanning intensity; very high-volume scanning may reduce runtime.
Ready Out of the Box: The DS2278 ships pre-configured with optimised default settings for the majority of scanning applications. No programming required for standard USB HID use — unbox and scan.
