Zebra 8000T Lab Resist 22 x 18 mm Polyester Labels — Chemical Resistant, 3 Rolls
Laboratory and histology22 x 18 mmImage Lock ribbon required3 x 3,269 labels
The Zebra 3013781 is a box of 3 rolls of 8000T Lab Resist polyester labels, 22 x 18 mm and 3,269 labels per roll, for Zebra desktop thermal transfer printers labelling microscope slides and lab samples that go through staining and solvent processing.
Zebra designed 8000T Lab Resist for slide labelling in haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. Printed with Zebra Image Lock ribbon, the gloss white polyester label withstands water, alcohol, xylene and the staining reagents, and Zebra states it outperforms its Z-Xtreme 5000T material in this use.
Before you order: The chemical resistance is only achieved with Zebra Image Lock ribbon — Zebra states that other resin ribbons will not print on this material. Order the ribbon together with the labels.
What's in the Box
- 3 rolls of Zebra 8000T Lab Resist labels, 22 x 18 mm, gloss white polyester
- 3,269 labels per roll (9,807 labels per box)
- Not perforated
- Ribbon not included — Zebra Image Lock ribbon required
What It Means in Practice
- Labels survive H&E staining runs, alcohol baths and xylene clearing without the print smearing or the label lifting, so slides stay identifiable through processing.
- Service temperature from -40°C to +150°C, including deep-freeze storage; apply at 2°C or above.
- The small 22 x 18 mm format is intended for slide and small-sample labelling; check the label area of your slides before ordering.
- Expected life over 1 year indoors and outdoors (Zebra: expected, not warranted).
What Will Not Work
- Any ribbon other than Zebra Image Lock — Zebra states other resin ribbons will not print on this material.
- Direct thermal-only ("d") printers — this is thermal transfer media.
- Industrial printers needing 76 mm cores — this roll is for desktop thermal transfer printers.
- Laser or inkjet printers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my existing resin ribbon?
No. Zebra states that only Image Lock ribbon prints on 8000T Lab Resist and delivers the tested chemical resistance.
Is it suitable for cryogenic tubes?
Zebra rates it to -40°C service temperature including deep freeze. For liquid nitrogen storage, ask us for a cryogenic-rated label.
Will 22 x 18 mm fit my slides?
Zebra does not publish a slide format for this label. Send us your slide type and we will check the label area.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For histology and pathology labs, the label is only half the system — 8000T Lab Resist works because it is paired with Zebra Image Lock ribbon. Order both together and print on a Zebra desktop thermal transfer printer from the list below. See our
Zebra and thermal label range for other lab and general labels.
✓ Buy it if you label microscope slides or samples that go through H&E staining, alcohol or xylene, on a Zebra desktop thermal transfer printer.
✕ Skip it if you cannot use Zebra Image Lock ribbon, or your labels never meet solvents — a standard polyester label costs less.
→ Also consider Zebra Image Lock ribbon in the width that matches your printer.
Tell us your printer model and slide type and we will confirm the label, ribbon width and core before you order.
