The Zebra CBA-U28-C15ZBR is a shielded, coiled USB cable with a 12 V Power Plus (powered USB) host connector and 4.6 m (15 ft) reach, for connecting Zebra barcode scanners such as the DS4308, DS4608, DS7708, DS9208 and DS9308 to POS terminals that have a powered-USB port.
Powered USB is common on retail POS systems: the extra 12 V lets high-draw scanners run without a separate power supply. That is the only reason to choose this cable — on a normal PC it will not plug in.
Before you order: This cable needs a 12 V Power Plus (powered USB) port on the POS. For normal USB-A ports on PCs or hubs, order the standard version CBA-U29-C15ZBR.

What It Means in Practice
- Check the POS: a Power Plus port is a larger, keyed connector, often coloured, next to the normal USB ports.

What Will Not Work
- Will not plug into a standard USB-A port — use CBA-U29-C15ZBR.
- Not a straight cable — Zebra offers a 7 ft straight Power Plus version (CBA-U23-S07ZBR).
- Not for scanners outside Zebra's general-purpose cable family — send us the model to check.
