The Zebra DS8178-HC is Zebra's premium healthcare cordless barcode scanner — engineered specifically for clinician workflows at the bedside, in the pharmacy, in the lab and at the point of care. It captures damaged, low-contrast and tiny barcodes that competing scanners struggle with (IV bags, foil med-packs, syringes, ampoules, vials) using Zebra's exclusive PRZM Intelligent Imaging and a 1280 × 960 sensor. The disinfectant-ready healthcare housing resists the widest array of hospital cleaners — alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, quat-based and bleach-based disinfectants — without cracking or discolouring. Night Mode with haptic vibration lets nurses scan in patient rooms at night without audible beeps disturbing patients, and a green LED aimer (rather than red laser) makes it safe for NICU and PTSD-sensitive environments.
