The Zebra DS9908-SR00004ZZWW is a wired, standard-range barcode scanner for retail checkout. Leave its integrated adjustable stand on the counter to present products hands-free, or pick it up to scan a bulky item in a trolley. Touch sensing and an accelerometer switch operation automatically. This package contains one Midnight Black scanner only: the host interface cable is required and sold separately. A connected POS or computer and its receiving application are needed to use the scanned data.

Before you order:
Select the correct Zebra cable for the host interface before ordering. This SR model is not the HD, healthcare or DS9908R RFID variant. Its shorter presentation range helps avoid nearby labels; the extended handheld range depends on the actual barcode.

What It Means in Practice

  • Connect using the chosen cable, configure host mode and keyboard layout with 123Scan or programming barcodes, then test the receiving POS application.
  • At checkout, present a small packaged item to the reader, then lift it to reach the barcode on a larger item. Put it down to resume presentation scanning.
  • For 13 mil UPC, typical range changes from 0–24.1 cm hands-free to 0–62.7 cm handheld; a different symbol has a different range.

What Will Not Work

  • No Bluetooth roaming or standalone stock database is provided.
  • RFID requires the separate DS9908R model; EAS deactivation requires the appropriate optional Checkpoint setup.
