Zebra lists it in the official spare-parts catalogues for these printers as item 10, Cover Open Sensor. A failed sensor typically shows up as a printer that reports the head or cover open while it is closed, or does not react when it is opened.
Before you order: Zebra uses two different sensors in this family: P1080383-044 for ZD420 Thermal Transfer (203/300 dpi) and ZD620 Thermal Transfer, and P1080383-011 for ZD410 and the direct-thermal/cartridge ZD420 and ZD620. Check the model on the printer label (a T in ZD420T/ZD620T means thermal transfer) before ordering. The newer ZD421 and ZD621 use different parts.
