Zebra Internal Ethernet Upgrade for ZD410 and ZD420
ZD410 · ZD420c/d/t10/100 EthernetField-installableZebra original part
The Zebra P1080383-442 is the internal 10/100 Ethernet print server upgrade kit for the ZD410 and ZD420 desktop label printers: it adds a wired RJ45 network port to a USB-only printer so it can be shared on the LAN, for shops and warehouses that want to move a printer off a single PC.
Zebra’s ZD410 documentation describes the option as user-installed 10/100 Ethernet that can be added in the field, supporting 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 10/100 auto-switching networks, and states that upgrade kits include the Torx tool needed to install them.
Before you order: For the ZD410 and ZD420 (c, d and t versions). The newer ZD411/ZD421 use different connectivity modules. A field-installed Ethernet module does not include the Real-Time Clock, which Zebra supplies only with factory-installed networking.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Zebra internal 10/100 Ethernet print server module for ZD410 / ZD420
- Torx tool for installation (Zebra states upgrade kits include it)
What It Means in Practice
- The printer gets its own IP address and RJ45 port — print from any PC or POS system on the network.
- Web View lets you check and configure the printer from a browser (ZPL mode).
- Installation is done by the user: the module goes into the printer’s connectivity slot.
- If you need date/time printing from the printer’s own clock, the field-installed module does not add the Real-Time Clock.
What Will Not Work
- ZD411 / ZD421 / ZD611 / ZD621 — different module generation.
- Wi-Fi or Bluetooth — this is wired Ethernet only.
- External ZebraNet print servers — Zebra does not support them on the ZD410.
- Gigabit speed — the module is 10/100.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Adding Ethernet to an existing ZD410/ZD420 is usually cheaper than replacing the printer and frees it from a dedicated PC. Check that you do not rely on the Real-Time Clock, which only factory-networked printers have. More parts in our
POS and label printer accessories.
✓ Buy it if you have a USB-only ZD410 or ZD420 and want to share it on a wired network.
✕ Skip it if you have a ZD411/ZD421, need Wi-Fi, or need the Real-Time Clock.
→ Also consider A current ZD421 with factory Ethernet if you are replacing the printer anyway.
