Zebra Z-Select 2000D 102 x 152 mm Direct Thermal Labels

The Zebra Z-Select 2000D 200963 is a box of 4 rolls of 102 x 152 mm premium matte coated direct thermal paper labels for industrial Zebra printers, made for shelf-edge and price labels, product identification, chiller and freezer labelling, healthcare sample labels, shipping, picking and receiving, box and pallet labels.
Z-Select is Zebra premium coated paper range: the topcoat protects the heat-sensitive face, so prints stay sharper and survive moisture, oils and chilled storage better than economy uncoated labels. Direct thermal means no ribbon — load the roll and print.
Before you order: These rolls are wound on a 76 mm (3") core with a roll diameter of about 193 mm — they are made for Zebra industrial printers and do not fit desktop printers such as the ZD421, ZD621 or GK420.
What's in the Box
- 4 rolls of Zebra Z-Select 2000D 102 x 152 mm labels, Zebra part number 200963
- Rolls on a 76 mm core, outer diameter about 193 mm
- No ribbon needed or included — the labels print by direct thermal
- No printer, software or spindle adapters included
What It Means in Practice
- Each label is 102 x 152 mm (width x length) — set the same size in your label software or printer driver before the first print
- Built for shelf-edge and price labels, product identification, chiller and freezer labelling, healthcare sample labels, shipping, picking and receiving, box and pallet labels
- Direct thermal means the printer heats the label itself: no ribbon to buy or change, but the print is sensitive to heat, sunlight and friction over time
- The 76 mm core and about 193 mm roll diameter suit the larger media bays of Zebra industrial printers, so you change rolls less often
- After loading a new label size, run the printer media calibration so it detects the gap between labels and stops at the right position
What Will Not Work
- Ribbon-based printing — these are direct thermal labels and print without a ribbon
- Zebra desktop printers (GK, GX, ZD series) — the 76 mm core and large roll will not fit
- Inkjet, laser or label printers from other brands that need their own cartridges (for example DYMO or Brother DK rolls)
- Long-term exposure to sunlight or extreme heat — Zebra does not recommend it, and direct thermal paper darkens with heat and UV
Key Features
Protective topcoat
The coated face gives sharper barcodes and text, supports faster print speeds and is kinder to the printhead than an uncoated label.
Moisture and oil resistance
The topcoat resists moisture, oils and handling far better than economy uncoated direct thermal paper.
Cold-chain ready adhesive
Zebra specifies excellent low-temperature resistance, so labels keep holding in chiller and freezer applications.
Food-contact compliant adhesive
Adhesive complies with EC 1935/2004, EU 10/2011 and BfR XXI for dry and moist non-fatty food, and FDA 175.105 for dry food.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a ribbon for these labels?
No. Z-Select 2000D is a direct thermal material — the printer darkens the heat-sensitive face directly. If your printer is a thermal transfer model, simply run it in direct thermal mode without a ribbon.
Will this roll fit my printer?
It fits Zebra industrial printers with 76 mm core spindles, including 220Xi4, ZE500/ZE511/ZE521, ZT111, ZT210/ZT211, ZT220/ZT230/ZT231, ZT410/ZT411, ZT420/ZT421, ZT510 and ZT610/ZT620. Desktop printers cannot hold this roll.
What is the difference from Z-Perform labels?
Z-Select has a protective topcoat that gives better print quality, faster print speeds, longer printhead life and better resistance to moisture and oils. Z-Perform is the uncoated economy option for short-life indoor labels.
How do I set up the printer for this label?
In the Zebra driver or ZebraDesigner, enter the label size 102 x 152 mm, choose direct thermal as the print method and gap/notch media, then run a media calibration. Wrong settings are the most common cause of labels skipping or printing across the gap.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Z-Select 2000D is the sensible default for direct thermal labels that must look sharp and survive handling, chillers and freezers. For short-life shipping labels that are thrown away within days, the uncoated Z-Perform 1000D costs less; for labels that must last years, move to a thermal transfer material. Browse our
Zebra and thermal labels range for other sizes, cores and materials.
✓ Buy it if you print direct thermal labels on a Zebra industrial printer and want sharper print and better resistance than economy paper.
✕ Skip it if labels must survive sunlight, heat or years of storage — choose a thermal transfer material instead.
→ Also consider Zebra Z-Perform 1000D for lower cost, or Z-Select 2000T if your printer has thermal transfer and labels must last longer.
