The Zebra ZD421t is a 4-inch desktop label printer with 300 dpi output and up to 106 mm printable width. It accepts standard 74 m or 300 m ribbon rolls for thermal transfer, or suitable direct thermal media without ribbon. USB, USB Host and Ethernet are fitted; BLE is for setup only. Three buttons and five status icons provide local control without an LCD.

Before you order:
Use a compatible label application and media within the 106 mm printable area. Match ribbon and labels to the required lifetime; a roll model is different from the cartridge system. BLE 5 works with Zebra’s setup app and is not ordinary Bluetooth printing. Battery, cutter and peeler are optional; consumables are ordered separately.

What It Means in Practice

  • For example, load the correct label roll and matching ribbon, calibrate the sensor and send a barcode layout from compatible software. Separate the printed output manually at the tear edge; the application supplies item data and updates records.
  • The 127 mm media roll capacity reduces loading frequency. Roll ribbons allow the supported lengths and widths to be matched to the label material.

What Will Not Work

  • You need an included battery, cutter, peeler or LCD.
  • A different ribbon system cannot be substituted for the specified printer mechanism.
